Normally I'd likely super complain about this, but considering I was proven wrong about new Kamigawa, and proven wrong in Capenna in that I thought it would be exciting but it ended up being boring, all I can do is wait and see how this looks. If they add a fantasy flourish to cowboys then it could work. Might be neat to see a cowboy riding a pegasus or other winged creature and be an archon.
One thing I don't want is Cowboy being a creature type. I don't know what they could be normally, rangers or warriors, iono, but I don't want cowboy. I'm sure it'll happen though. Please no dragons or angles, they're already shoehorned into certain planes that don't really need them.
They created a gender neutral title for naming knights in Eldraine, I doubt they'd stick cowboy on the type line.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)
STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.

Me not wanting cowboy has nothing to do with gender, but because I don't want it being a creature type. I don't want either cowboy or cowgirl.
OK, but the reason they won't do it is still because creature types are deliberately not gendered. And cowfolk sounds like anthropomorphic cows, so probably not that either.

especially since “merfolk” (fish) “treefolk” (animated trees) “moonfolk” (somewhat rabbit, the Japanese usually see rabbit face on the moon rather than a human (moon-hare).) “townsfolk” (human) and “clamfolk” (clams) and since all are based on a particular species
if They tried cowffolk it would just be based on cows/bulls/ox's

I would probably expect Flanking or the "Fixed" Flanking mechanic come back in a set like this. I would also expect a sort of quick shooter-inspired mechanic akin to split second but for creatures and combat.
Maybe
A mechanic that is very useful to creature decks and aggro decks and would fit into the genre like a glove.
25% I think the possibility is low. But I am not going to count it out. Who would have thought Hideaway would have come back in New Capenna. No one.

Maybe a wild west world is the best place to introduce Oxfolk (as in Cow-people) as a tongue-in-cheek joke.
Also Horsemanship is too close to unblockable in Standard/Modern - doubtful it would happen in a premier set.
I'd be down with Oxfolk. They would more than likely have larger toughness than power and I am always on the lookout for big butt creatures to wedge into Doran style decks.
For Horsemanship to work it would have to either be used exceedingly sparingly, to the tune of maybe 4 or less creatures in the whole set and more than likely on high mana cost legendary creatures OR used greatly in a wide approach in all colors including artifact creatures. Likely at least one creature at each rarity in each color.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Japanese (Anime/Manga) inspired then. (Yes I now know its an American production company responsible for this pablum) Unfortunately whatever it is I cannot un-see it.

the Wild West plane being angraths home plane is more than good
Typically seen when a outsider in a Wild West trying to find a town
2.
A little plume of smoke was rising from his foundry. A hand-painted window on the outside read "OPEN" in blocky lettering. The building was little more than a shack on the far end of town, but it had been his shack on the far end of town. Piles of iron and metal were stacked outside, and a number of items and weapons were hung on a rack, each tagged to mark which order was which.
That kind of sounds like a type of building you could see
Plus said to be in a “town” and he’s also a blacksmith which Wild West towns do have.

A cowboy is an animal herder. Could be a Peasant; or a Ranger for the more "Lone Ranger" type.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Being a vaquero was like a very specific job, you were basically a cowherd in the same way a shepherd was a sheep herder. Also there were shepherds back in those days too. The gender neutral term is just "cowherd" or even more generically a "rancher" since you worked on ranches (and usually did a bit more than watch the cows).
"Cowboy" as movies do them is like some kind of insane vigilante person with a gun and no ties to the locals, so if you're looking for like a movie vigilante lone ranger type, you'd probably have like "ranger" or "sheriff" or "wanderer" or something. Really "cowboy" is more like one of those meta terms that describes a vibe or a type of dress than a term that means a lot back in its day. I don't think clint eastwood ever actually played a cowboy in a movie, he was always some kind of bounty hunter or retired lawman or civil war vet.

There isn't going to be a new creature type introduced for a Cowboy.
A cowboy character will be either a (Race) Ranger or (Race) Peasant. Ex.) Human Ranger or Elf Peasant, etc. Look no farther than Desperate Farmer in a recent set to get a good idea of what they would do.
They may also include, Scout, Rogue, Warrior, Soldier, Citizen or Rebel depending on the creature as well.
