The people behind all those playmats from Original Magic Art have contacted the artist already, with plans for something to further raise funds for The Trevor Project.
It's going to be amusing to see how many people get triggered and complain that they are just trying to get people's money. It's literally part of their job as a company to get people's money, and inclusion is at least meaningful way of doing so.

It's pretty funny because I don't even see his comments otherwise when I noticed a pattern of him Just kind of being garbage I figured it would be best to ignore him.
I think this is a cool Secret Lair. Even if it feels like pandering, it doesn't negatively affect me at all, just like it doesn't negatively affect any anti-LGBT people.
And they'll mass report anyone who doesn't like it. The inclusive and tolerant are anything but that.
Well I mean, yeah. They call it the paradox of tolerance, right? "In order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must retain the right to be intolerant of intolerance"?
Granted, that's become an awfully slippery slope in recent times...
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
It can be both pandering and powerful. It's deeply cynical marketing to assume that any identity NEEDS to be present for people in that group to enjoy something. But at the same time, representation like this is hard to come by, so its a lovely thing in and of itself.

We, who does support inclusivity in any form for the things we love are an "infection" for this guy. But of course, we are the ones intolerant. Logic.
Also, this guy doesn't seem to post a lot here, but if you check his brief history half of them are exactly about spreading his personal view of "tolerance" and "respect" in exactly these kind of topics. What a dedication to the cause.

Which is fine, hes welcome to say his opinion as anybody else.
Thats the point of civil dialog.
Pointing fingers at individuals for their opinion is clearly a bad thing, as you can support whatever you like, and anybody else can say they dislike whatever you support, and thats fine too.

I personally find "Bearscape" funny, while its the kind of art i would NOT want to see on a card in Magic on a table, as i feel its as inappropriate as alternate arts with boobs or anything else on the line on them.
On a bunch of events playmats like the well known Chandra-Liliana one were not even ALLOWED (judges told you thats not "appropriate" for the tournament setting).
And arguably some of the art on these cards is basically on the same level.
----
The issue of "pandering" is simply that WotC is doing that for a reason.
Not to donate money, as they could do that with discretion on their own, but they choose to produce products that inject that into the game, which in itself is a source of problems at casual tables and tournament tables on what is "appropriate" on a Magic card and whats not, to be said they are not very consistent in what is "appropriate" and whats not, its up to a judges discretion, and that varies wildly from judge to judge, which is already bad to make any proper and reasonable judgment call (you want guidelines that are the same and have no prejudice towards any direction).
----
As is visible by responses here as well, simply stating its pandering is already a call to action of finger pointing, and that in itself is bad and the opposite of inclusion (as without the pandering, the game itself is plenty inclusive as it is, doesnt need to be blatantly obvious in whats it pandering for, as thats just more divisive and triggers people on either side, could be avoided in the first place).

I'm sorry but this rethoric won't work and anybody that see clearly all your interventions (in both this topic, the Black Lives Matter one, etc.) will take their own conclusion in all the full context, as you say. I am one of those "woke that infect and corrupt companies and then cause them to fail". It's ok it's your opinion, I respect that. Just don't be so hypocritical about it. Have a nice day.

Oof, you can practically hear the copy/paste from whatever "America First", men are men, GQP website. It's just as hilarious there as it is here.
the idea is nice and i like some artworks, but i wont purchase this set.
besides mana clonfluence there is no card i really want. i know thats not the main point of secret lairs, but i would like to have cards i also wanna play with and not just collect them. because that goes mainly only for bearscape, but not the others.
not sayn they did a bad job, its the opposit, i am just a little sad that there is nothn of interest here for me
This is a super revealing comment. What specifically on this version of Bearscape is too sexual for Magic?
Look at the background, its exactly the same as in the Chandra-Lilliana playmat i posted in the spoiler tag in the comment.
And that playmat was on several occasions not tournament legal as its "not appropriate" (so if that is true for 2 women, it should be true for 2 dudes as well, and equally so for a hetero couple, or any other, as thats the point i want to make with the having equal standards and not pander to one while the other is somehow not appropriate, they either are all fine, or non of them is, and WotC policy does not properly work that out, but throw the issues at the discretion of judges at a tournament, and as these are "legal" cards otherwise, it becomes quite a mess to deal with).

Looking up prices, mana confluence and savor the moment are the only cards in the set over a 3 dollars, one at 25cad and the other at 50cad. It's on their ever growing trend of cards that need reprinting being seeded into secret lairs. And the need to put sol ring in everything. They could have hit better cards for the lair itself. Not knowing the hidden card in the back of the box yet, they could have done more. But pointing out shady marketing strategies using fomo (fear of missing out) to get panic buyers to get the product.
Some of you *****heads should have been aborted. No sorry, **** yall. I'm not going to pretend to be civil with people who intentionally try to exclude myself and people like me from civilization and the most enjoyable parts within. I hope you people stub your toes with every step.
$200 says that the same whiners who called out inclusivity and just giving his opinion bull***** will report this too, since they have no sense of self awareness as is. **** you consistent *****heads.
