It doesn't generate card advantage, it's a simple effect, and it doesn't put you too far ahead in limited. Highly efficient, but doesn't steal wins or anything. It also seems like the creatures on average are a bit heavier this set, so a 3/3 for 3 feels much more manageable with just one's creature drops.
This common does a lot. Offense, defense, mana production, it's got it all.

I mean, worse 3/3's for 3 are serviceable cards in draft already, I doubt there's a better green common in the set, I'll be sure to pick this high.
