Vivien is a fun design. 6 is probably still too much to see a lot of play, but I appreciate them not doing another "two abilities and an ultimate" kinda thing.

Man I missed Donato's art. I love that there is different art for the Gala Greeters based on location. I like so many of them, especially the Portuguese and Italian variants.
I wonder if Vivien's +2 means they realized that putting generally busted effects on a Planeswalker is "okay" because it's limited to once per turn. There's no untappers you can grab from the deck to keep a pod chain going. You have to use some really specific cards like Oath of Teferi or The Chain Veil to be able to use it multiple times.
Maybe we'll see some other abilities like that on future Planeswalkers
I'm diapointed with the spanish translation of Gala Greeters. "Recepcionistas de la gala" was a much, much better translation. "Saludadores de la gala" sounds weird.
Sad, introduce a powerful new legend and then kill him off three spoiled cards later.
I can understand the sentiment. I even share it to some degree. But now that the cards flow in, I feel compelled to admit that the story of Mafia-world simply calls for high-profile death even more than any other setting. And Ob Nixilis's penchant for conquest does lend itself to the behavior I've seen in the lore as told by the cards. So I'm again very much of the mind that they give us the right amount of compelling character to make us care about their death.
In a stroy where planeswalker pro- and antagonists have had a strong spell of main character resistance to death, I feel the high stakes for legendary creatures are a way to have consequences.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.

dont like the "CAR"... while it fits the set design theme, it feels of spot as a magic card. maybe in the future wizards released more uncreative trash that it will dilute more and more of what magic was so no one will bother anymore. but as it is, i really dont like this.
I don't recally anyone ever playing Damnable Pact so sticking casualty 3 on it to copy it isn't going to cause Cut of the Profits to make any waves. Flavorful art--I'll give it that. Maybe a 1-of in Orzhov Vampires with all the lifelink to refill your hand easily--that might work.
I think they did a good job of representing the cultural flavor to match the language. Particularly with the fashion sensibilities that would have been relevant during that time period.

On the first day of preview season, Mark talks about how Streets of New Capenna came to be.
Also out is the Mechanics article. Some cards are embedded within some of the explanation videos, and will be added later.
And now, a bunch of articles. These explain a lot of how products will distribute the different frame treatments. These include regular basics, and the different languages box topper Gala Greeters shows up in. Oh, and the List is only 58 cards now outside the Strangers Things SL adaptation.

wizards…why the hell is her 2+ Birthing pod
Also, as a longtime burn player I am continually saddened by burn spells only hitting Planeswalkers and Creatures so often now.

However, I like the idea in general. The German ones are very Babylon Berlin.

Finally a good white villain quote: "So, do I ever re-evaluate my life choices? Never, because I know what I'm doing is a righteous cause."
