I just want to make sure, now that shrines are creature types, that means changeling creatures would count towards shrine counts?
No changelings don’t work it’s the same ruling as gingerbrute as a food type.
I'm not a fan of these types not being creature types thing. They'll keep doing it and eventually when new players show up you'll have to show them a list of 20+ of them.

I don't get why Shrine is getting the focus when there are 14 creatures with the Equipment subtype in this set. Is it because they have only Shrine as a subtype?

Yeah. Artifact Creature - Equipment Jellyfish or the like can be confusing, but when you know subtypes, you can look at the card and kind of go "Oh, one is an artifact type, one is a creature type." No creature type at all is practically unheard of, so the subtype seems off to people.
It's sort of like, you don't say "the red, big balloon," you say, "the big, red balloon." There's an inherent grammar to card lines that isn't openly expressed. For an Enchantment Creature, the first assumption is that the subtype is a creature type because Enchantment Creatures (and Artifact Creatures) are Creatures first and the other type second. One subtype only turns the type line into a crash blossom.

That's likely thanks to equipment having been around so long and people knowing that it's not a creature type, but when you make a creature and its only typing is Shrine then you kind of think it might be one. Personally, I don't see why Food can't be a creature type.
So does "set booster exclusive for commander" mean these are only available in the set boosters? Ugh.
Depends on how bad the pull rates are for these cards since most of them are printed at normal rare and mythic and If it's anything like the pull rates for reprints from The List then it might not be AS bad. Still would've preferred If they had added these cards in the Commander Pre-Cons instead of Set Boosters so that it wouldn't be left to chance to obtain them unless you're forced to buy them as singles online unfortunately. Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro seems to be doing everything they can to get players to play the lottery as a means of getting more foot traffic at Local Game Stores (LGSs) which isn't bad per say If there was little risk for greater reward yet I feel like they're being greedy.
I don't really want to pay top dollar on a Ruthless Technomancer for my Chatterfang, Squirrel General EDH / Commander deck that will probably cost as much as Dockside Extortionist on the MTG Secondary Market let alone the new Myojin cycle and Go-Shintai of Life's Origin which will probably be at least $10+ on the MTG Secondary Market depending on how viable they are. I guess Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro are tired of printing brand new cards in Commander Pre-Cons that make these Pre-Cons cost more than what they actually are being $40-50+ MSRP. They don't want players chasing specific Commander Pre-Cons for that $30 or $60+ chase card that isn't randomized like booster packs are.

Shouldn't be too bad. Lynde and Avacyn's Memorial from the Midnight Hunt Set Boosters are $2 each, while Umbris from the Crimson Vow Set Boosters is $5.Only problem is if it becomes a "staple," like the now-$15 Wedding Ring.

There are extra cards that can only be found in set boosters. It's been a thing for a few sets now.
