Divide by Zero? Weird choice. But I dunno the format. And Memory Lapse too. I love a good memory lapse, but it's just a tempo card.
Ragavan banned in legacy is pretty funny. It would be nice if wizards would learn the lesson and abide by their own design principals even on mythic legendaries rather than the mentality of "we want people to desire this card, so let's just add a little more power".
I also think their re-balancing cards with online sets is a dangerous precedent. They can use it as an excuse to release whatever overpowered cards they want, then fix it later. Hopefully we don't see anything becoming an actual errata like this.
Soo Ragavan is too powerful for legacy but not for modern, looks like our little monkey will keep the format hostage, wich is a good thing: more cheap removal and interactions.
Modern Horizons sets always take a really long time to ban the new problematics additions, still remember hogaak kappa

The problem with Ragavan in Legacy is Daze, and to a lesser extent Force of Will. It's very easy to protect him in Legacy, and they are never going to ban those cards. (I mean they've survived this long.)

Yeah, speaking as a Modern player, it's still too easy to boot Ragavan #1 and consta-block or boot Ragavan #2 for me to completely support banning him there. Ragavan can definitely get in some hits, especially when Dashed, but counting on him getting 5 uninterrupted turns per game is pretty much inconceivable.

yeah, it's pretty much this.
the difference here was that the Delver deck in legacy was with a large domination with over 20% of the meta, while Modern is a lot more healthy right now.
even if you could make a case for banning Lurrus or Ragavan or even Saga....
in legacy they needed to do something to reduce the delver deck domination, they opted to do it banning Ragavan... it's one idea, not the only one though.
and in legacy, you cannot simply ban Force of Will or Brainstorm because they're the glue that keep the entire format together.
That's...a lot. Now, that being said, there are a few cards on here that are just arguably busted, Delver or no, but still. If a deck archetype is continually poised to take over a format the moment it gets one new pushed card, given the fact that Wizards is CLEARLY not going to stop printing crazy pushed cards with their current design philosophy, maybe the better long-term option would be to target something like Daze to weaken the Delver core some and leave more wiggle room for future cards to enter the format and not require bannings.
The weird thing is "Delver" decks are really an entire archetype, not really a specific deck. It's hard to ban "decks with cheap cantrips, threats, and interaction." The issue with banning something like Daze is how much of a boon that would be to the hyper-linear combo decks available in Legacy. Not sure how they fix it really.
I don't think they 100% decided to kill off paper yet, so I think their goal is to print good, balanced cards. But it's nice that if they mess up, there's still a format where you can sort of play those cards. I don't know. MtG is weird these days.
Ragavan seems fine in modern. I don't play a ton but watch a ton of coverage and the card always seems good, but not totally busted.
Divide by Zero is just misterable to play against, and there's a deck that just replays them over and over. I haven't played Standard since that happened, so good to see it go.
Good to see Faceless Haven go too, it's just too strong with vigilance and its size, and its side-combo with that book wasn't great either. Just too much going on there, another failure by Play Design.
Pleasantly surprised by no Modern bans, friends and I have just bought into the format so we're pretty happy.

Not to mention Brainstorm is a good skill tester for people early on that haven't yet experienced Brainstorm lock.
and both only exist because answering lands is the 8th deadly sin.
It' a nonbasic, no one really minds. The fact that Field of Ruin was run nowhere in Standard despite there being no reason no to was probably its death knell.

Well, and we thought we'd have a full Standard season without (additional) bans. So much for that happening.

Also, I think Divide by Zero is a weird ban, never really saw that coming.
Nobody could have foretold it either.

Yes, yes it was. Way too big and efficient and goes in every deck because Wiz made zero drawbacks to a snow mana base. Compare with stalking stones
yes
its Really big snow mana not hard to get in standard
and Most importantly that obnoxious The Book of Exalted Deeds combo with it.
