Great news, now they can delay this trash indefinitely and print a real set. Seriously, paying money for cards that aren't legal is pure madness.
But some of them are legal this time, so that argument falls more flat than usual, and clearly people like it or they wouldn't be printing it. I'd rather have this than 100 more Secret Lairs or the next $15/pack limited set, or Double Feature.
they made some of the cards legal exactly because people were losing interest in unsets. this increases perceived value of set as people could sell cards potentially valuable for other formats. it's artificial increase of product value and it's a bad sign that they did this. i enjoyed ocasional unset draft but my lgss never sold even remotely close amount of unset product compared to normal sets.
Strange, from what I remember Unglued sold moderately well, Unhinged was a sale disaster because of overprinting as well as some bad designs and Unstable had to be reprinted multiple times because of the high demand. Were do you get 'people start to lose interest in unsets' out of that?
Wait, how well did Unsanctioned sell? (Given how few cards it has, I have a hard time imagining it sold better than Unstable.)
There usually a few cards I like in in-sets but overall not my focus. However, the lands in this set look phenomenal. The buy-a-box promos, WOW
I'm a little sad that they've chosen to go the black-border Acorn stamp direction either these cards, as I've always enjoyed the silver-border touch that made these cards unique but I am definitely looking forward to this set as I love all things UN. I also decided this past year to pull the trigger on an EDH deck celebrating one of my favorite video games and got themed custom Dragon Shields and a custom art Captain Sisay as Commander Shepard so seeing these lands, they are now a MUST HAVE for that deck. I'm glad they are a buy a box promo AND in Collectors Packs which means that they should be widely available for me to get my hands on.
Unstable sold well probably due to the lands and nothing else.

I don't think it's only the land thing. Every unset had the full-art lands gimmick, but Unhinged was a failure, Unstable a success. Since Unstable many casual EDH players wanted to have cards from that set legal to their format because there were a lot of great new and fun designs to experiment that almost worked well within the realm of black border with some little tweaks here and there. MaRo itself admitted that if the acorn stamp technology already existed, stuff like contraptions, augment, dice matter cards and others would be already eternal format legal very probably.

And you would be incorrect. The limited format was a blast, so lots of people bought boxes to draft. I know of multiple people in my city alone who have Un-cubes, all of which were greatly enhanced with Unstable cards. And don't forget the casual players who would have bought packs of Unstable to add wacky new cards to their kitchen table decks.
The lands certainly helped, but Unstable wouldn't have been printed 4 times on the basis of lands alone.

Elspeth and Jhoira rock my world.
Maybe, who cares. If that's what it takes so that the people who like Unsets get that product, so be it. There is literally no harm in it.
you know that doesn't apply anymore as of unfinity
it Won’t just be the lands anymore now it’s also includes the cards that don't have a acorn as the holo stamp
