So far the reasons why are unknown why, but they will explain in the months to come. Hopefully Commander Legends: Battle For Baldur's Gate gets bumped up to April to fill the now voided slot.
I wish this upset me, but I don't know Magic releases anymore since there are 10 other spoilers/releases happening at the same time. For all I knew it wasn't coming out until the back half of 2022 anyways.

First of April. While I entirely agree on the general inability to get release dates straight even vaguely (best I can do is the order of premier sets - and even that gets harder is we don't have two consecutive sets on the same plane like this year and last year), but it has been quite simple to remember the date for the Un-set, because it was purposefully chosen.

Planar Chaos was not a mistake neither was it random. You might want to look at it again.
[thread=239793][Game] Level Up - Creature[/thread]
Great news, now they can delay this trash indefinitely and print a real set. Seriously, paying money for cards that aren't legal is pure madness.
But some of them are legal this time, so that argument falls more flat than usual, and clearly people like it or they wouldn't be printing it. I'd rather have this than 100 more Secret Lairs or the next $15/pack limited set, or Double Feature.
wonder what excuse they bring once the pandamic is over. our company uses alot of printed materials and we got no problems besides increased prices for paper. so my guess is they messed something up badly and now use the pandemic as excuse. cause why would wizards be honest with us ?
Got to agree with HighHolder, they could delay this set indefinitely for all I care.
Still don't understand that some people seem to really think that their own likes or dislikes are the only ones that matter and that only those should be reflected in Wizards policies. Unstable sold extremely well, so there are obviously a lot of people who don't think like you do. Just let us have our fun with the Unsets. I for one am quite saddened by the loss of the April 1st release slot. Would have fit perfectly. Alas...

I merely expressed that I don't care for the set and thus its delay. Where did you read that I proclaimed my likes and dislikes as the only ones that matter?

And that's exactly the issue: increased costs. Wizards wouldn't want to spend more money, so they have to wait out the availability issue. Un-sets are very low priority anyways, so this would give out to... Commander 2022, I guess.

You agreed with HighHolder, whose comment definitely went into that direction, so it was not strange of me to assume that you hold similar positions. If I was mistaken about your own personal stance, then I am sorry that I included you in this. My point still stands.

Funnily enough, I am equally apathetic about this delay, though for exactly the opposite reason. I was looking forward to another silver-bordered set to deck out my silver-bordered Un-Cube. And then they black-bordered it, which made me lose all interest. Instead of a fully legal black-bordered set or a fun, niche silver-bordered set, they went halfway between and discovered that Venn Diagrams generally exclude more people than they include. I'll wait for a real silver-bordered set.

they made some of the cards legal exactly because people were losing interest in unsets. this increases perceived value of set as people could sell cards potentially valuable for other formats. it's artificial increase of product value and it's a bad sign that they did this. i enjoyed ocasional unset draft but my lgss never sold even remotely close amount of unset product compared to normal sets.

Strange, from what I remember Unglued sold moderately well, Unhinged was a sale disaster because of overprinting as well as some bad designs and Unstable had to be reprinted multiple times because of the high demand. Were do you get 'people start to lose interest in unsets' out of that?

It's actually the other way around. They increased the number of un-products exactly because of the increase of their popularity, especially after Unstable. When WotC see something that doesn't sell money -which is, people that are not interested in product- they simply not support the product anymore, as they did with unsets themselves for over a decade since Unhinged, because they did Unhinged wrong. Now WotC is starting to make the uncards legal, because more and more players wants to see their uncards legal (if you see MaRo blog, you can see every day players that begs to him to make most of the older silver border cards legal in eternal formats )

I've had multiple occasions of people tearing up silver-border cards in the middle of other people's games because they're "not real Magic." The general Magic community respect actual hornets more than silver border cards. Unstable sound extremely well on its Limited environment and full-art basics, but that wasn't enough for most people.

Oh, I DARE someone to try and rip up my silver border cards. That's a declaration of war and I don't think there would be anything left of the person that had the testicular fortitude to do such a thing. My property is my property, you can dislike Silver Bordered cards but you keep your disgusting hands off my expensive merchandise.

Yeah, that's the most disappointing part of the whole thing.
