The bad news is that the payoff for modified costing 5 mana is quite tough to get, to the point of quite possibly not being worth it, even in Lurrus of the Dream-Den-as-Companion decks. Well, at least Goro-Goro plays nice with Lurrus.

well I do agree but that haste part might come in handy since it’s only R and that’s it.
I tought was a great card. Then that "activate only if you control an attacking modified creature" made it a half piece of thrash.
First off there are endless stuff that will make a creature modified (it’s literally just a +1/+1 counter (any counter really) or equipment/aura on it)
second that’s a mana sink ability and the tokens not legendary and not attacking so it stays
So a Grizzly Bear with a cheap activated ability providing a little bit of value alongside a very expensive, repeatable dragon token-making ability that requires you to jump through a bunch of hoops...where have I seen this before? I do think this is a very interesting and cool design, but I feel that a LOT would have to go this cards way before it could break into a 60-card format.

But there's huge differences. Dragon Whisperer its actually much, much better than this, because it's a standalone card doesn't need any other support than mana to do everything alone (same can't be said with...goro goro). evasion and pump on herself it's much better than giving haste most of times, and if you have enough mana, if you pump enough she makes formidable alone and dragon can be casted at istant speed at eot opponent. And doesn't even have the drawback of being legendary! Now I'm ore convinced it's actually totally crap if we see what we have for same mana cost in older formats.
A serious-tempered Goblin? In my Magic? In Kamigawa? Color me surprised. He's kind of cool, anything that threatens to haste out future threats is a bit of a threat itself. He's a bit worse than some contemporaries if you're doing something rather unfair (Kenrith, the Returned King comes to mind as potentially superior if you're putting your deck onto the battlefield) but he's an upgrade to Whip Sergeant or Crimson Mage at least.

right of the bat I can remind one of the older leaks mentions a mechanic called “modified”
what’s really cool is a haste enabler for everybody you control
Hope it’s a cycle and we a disciple for yosei, Keigai, Jugan, and Kokusho as well.
