Did it really have to exile? It can't retrieve itself, after all.
There are so many Anarchist-style creatures out there that the loop becomes quiet obvious. I think in general the rule is that returning multiple cards where one of them might form a loop with it (so you gain card advantage per loop) is supposed to exile the card, preventing the loop.
