Straight out of CommanderLegends (and wherever the heck in Kessig they live), Hal and Alena are here to offer a different take on the God of Revels-inspired power boost.
This was pretty excepted not sure why people really thought they do Olivia and Edgar or Thalia and Traft when it was a really safe pet these show up in a couples card after not being in Midnight Hunt.
I love how this card has reach and first strike to mimic the Commander Legends version and all three have synergy together. I still find it odd Alena wasn't a ranger either which would better help unite the three cards more.
Also the eternal night art is so beautiful and really fit the two in both of them being in acton poses while almost kissing showing how they are partners in love and as hunters.

Kinda good. Not sure if its gonna be played tho.
Regular art is like: Why theres a Dwarf and a Elf fighting together? Eternal Night art is pure art, love it.
The black and white art looks nice, but something about the posing makes it look a bit comical. It feels weird that they're looking past each other. If they're (romantic) partners, it would make way more sense if they were looking into each other's eyes. I think they were going for the similar "partners in combat" vibe of the regular art, but that is thrown off by the fact that both of them don't really seem to be looking at anything.
Also, the ambiguous naming and no (explicit) flavor text is a classic corporate "look, these characters are gay, but we still want to sell our stuff in China/Russia" move. Not exactly applause-worthy.
I think I've learned to treat Magic cards like baseball cards: keep 'em in a binder in numerical order, don't play with 'em, try to finish the set and just keep my head down.

Damn.
Help me, I'm confused.
It's simple, sometimes what makes sense doesn't lead to good gameplay.

Much prefer the alt art to the standard art.
What they do is really neat to build around too. That they give haste is great too.
Ill probably build them for edh and finally have an r/g build thats relatively fun
They're getting older, can't move like they used to. That or stats are mostly about game mechanics rather than flavor.
Seems nice. Needs board presence, but it's 4/5 in stats the turn you play it and threatens to do a lot of damage thereafter.
