My reaction to Sigarda's Summons -> Get them girl.
The story text on the Sigarda's Summons Enchantment imply that she got captured. Most likely by Sorin but how does she end up in Olivia's custody? Was she the wedding gift from Sorin?
A shame that we will not get a new Thalia card but still better to have a playable reprint of a fan favorite character than see her returning as a vampire ;P.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Lol, I'm so stoked on Invitation. I ported my old standard Metalwork Colossus deck to Pioneer and you still have to go through steps to get Key to the City. Don't even need to play Key anymore. Awesome.
Also, Sorin's looking good, and I like Cleave as a mechanic. Lay of the Land/Diabolic Tutor split card seems playable.
I appreciate that they want to make new mechanics to pique our interest, couldn't they have just brought back Outlast instead?
Probably the next time we see a counter strategy in GW, it'l be Convoke = +1/+1 counter. "When you cast this creature, you may tap two other creatures you control. If you do, this creature comes into play with a +1/+1 counter on it".
Training is literally just inverted Mentor. Tremendously lazy design.
I remember mentor being terribly unfun in draft. I hope it's not the same for training too.

I also think it's a pretty horrid ability for constructed as by definition the cards have to have lower power to trigger themselves. It means you are playing lower power cards that have to survive a turn and have another creature to attack alongside them to do trigger, that's just asking too much for constructed.
It's ok in Limited, but I kind of feel like it's one of those mechanics where you're looking at the card to begin with, and the ability is just upside. Take the white common 3 mana 2/1 flyer here, that baseline is passable in limited, and if you ever get a counter off of training you feel like you're getting a good deal.
You sure? You don't have to sacrifice anything, but if you do have something disposable it's like a big Gatekeeper of Malakir. It could have been an all-star with expendable decayed bodies so we'll see if black gets anything like that this set. Feels like a plant for the "double feature" drafts where you could play this with all the decayed makers from midnight hunt.
If blood tokens end up having as many uses as decayed tokens did, then gluttonous guest is going to be a great common.
I am once again worried about red/green in this limited format. It saving grace will be if the removal sucks this time.
We have two Draculas already, we could get multiple Van Helsings. Maybe.

Thou shalt not have others of the same Legendary before me Thou shalt not frame images with the modern card face Thou shalt not change rules in vain Remember the Reserved List to keep it holy Honor thy Slivers and the symmetry of their abilities Thou shalt not kill mana burn Thou shalt not sacrifice depth for accessibility Thou shalt not steal combat damage from the stack Thou shalt tell a story through thy cards All must be one
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

Let's start preview season with how this set's mechanics work. We also have three entire articles to explain all the boosters and all the variants (that will still confuse us anyways). Finally, here's the first part of the Crimson Vow story.
EDIT: Oh right, invitations. Here you go. Sorry about the giant slug and exploding zombie, we ran out of bat messengers.
Its like the Ikoria Godzilla cards. Its the same card, they just as a "flavor" name with the Dracula theme in addition to the normal name underneath.

Holy dang you're right, this must be the new de facto basic mountain for any vampire deck that plays red!
What? The Mina Harker overlay is on Thalia.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
