Ok I'll put my thoughts in spoiler tag too for the plot
Interesting. Unclear why Sorin would be trying to stop this mission - doesn't he want things "set right" on the world, in terms of day/night balance and coexistence for humans? His reason for creating Avacyn and the other angels in the first place was to protect the humans and make balance, was it not?
Maybe this is sort of like a Nahiri vs. Nissa on Zendikar thing, where he wants to do right by the world but has a different view of what that is. Or maybe just thinks that Sigarda and the other angels are irreparably corrupted from what happened with Emrakul.
And a side question (in spoiler because it references someone named in the flavor text):
How did the Sorin/Nahiri fight in War of the Spark get resolved? They both survived since Nahiri showed up on Zendikar, but what was the outcome? Nahiri must know that her plan to destroy Innistrad failed, so is she still out for revenge?

I don't know if I need to but I will anyway lol.
I haven't read the novel but I remember it being said that eventually they put their battle on hold and fought against the eternals. On the subject of Sorin vs Sigarda I wonder if the key has something to do with the events of the crimson vow. Like maybe it has something to do with keeping the vampire families in balance like it some kind of political tool. Maybe with it gone it opens the way for Olivia to take over the whole of Innistrad which is one of the plot points of Crimson Vow. While I don't really care for Sigarda I don't think Sorin would jeopardize Innistrad with out a good reason.

Embrace the dark you call a home,
Gaze upon an empty, white throne
A legacy of lies,
A familiar disguise
Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone
It's possible that Arlinn and Teferi have already allied with Sigarda, and Sigarda is just there to distract Sorin long enough for Arlinn and Teferi to steal an important artifact from Markov Manor. I think Sigarda realizes enough about Avacyn to not really want to turn Sorin into an enemy.
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
The video wizards streamed yesterday will explain it better than me. There is a giant mechanism deep within Kessig (I believe) the covens of the old ways of Innistrad are going to do a rite/ a giant fall festival with this mechanism to return the day/night cycle back to normal as Emmerakul's presence has made it all crazy. The key is what initiates the mechanism.

I imagine the reason humans have not been able to perform the ritual that invokes the pre-Avacynian magic which assists humanity is because the Markov vampires hold the key to activating the Celeste or whatever the mechanism was called. It's in the vampire's best interest to deprive humanity of the key, and was never needed in Avacyn's presence, but now that it's needed, it will put the vampires and other horrors at a disadvantage if humanity is able to perform the ritual. So Sorin is protecting it, but Sigarda and her PW allies have no loyalties to the vampires and will gladly attempt to employ it in favor of humans.
put in spoiler tag for those who don't want to know
as Usual wizards is a disgrace at keeping secrets from the leakers they goofed and didn't hide the flavor text of the Chinese version.
here’s the flavor text
so the leak sigarda is fighting sorin and this probably means the last sister is gonna die.
I mean... yeah it would fit with the way there were throwing Angel characters away. Maybe something happens when all sisters are dead.
I am sure that Sigarda is trying to help Arlinn and Teferi out by causing a distraction for them.
Ah and I am sure that the card isn't the Czech version. Looks more like Chinese or something like that.
fixed I just realized the right translation Chinese thanks guys
Hello there, my compatriot
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
It’s a plot spoiler.
Given that Wizards purposefully covered that flavour text up in their video, yeah, it's a plot spoiler.
