Not sure this one's even enough to gain favor over the more straightforward stuff. Maybe the Flashback gives it enough edge - copy removal early, still have it around to double up a big spell later?
So we can cast this, then cast Irencrag Feat, then spend our 14 red mana on something spectacular.
Not in Standard because the Feat rotates out as this comes in but in Historic/Modern...I mean it's possible, if you have the stamina and patience to set it up.

Flashback offers another advantage over the other copy spells in future Standard, too. Cards like Consider and Prismari Command can put the card into your graveyard, too, so while you might not need it at the time, you can dump it in the yard and still use it later. If I loot Teach By Example with command because I need something else at the time, it's done, but with flashback, I can still get value out of Galvanic Iteration later on.
(Assuming you have the mana, which you can with Storm Kiln Artist helping) you can also copy itself with the flashback in the same so you can get 2 copies out of the next spell you cast.

This is the straightforward one though, isn't it? No mana value restriction, and 2 is the cheapest these get if you want the effect right away. Throwing in a reasonably costed flashback, too.

Oh, I didn't state that very clearly, my bad. I meant straightforward decks that don't mess around with the copy shenanigans. Izzet's usually more efficient without it. This is absolutely the best version of this effect for Izzet we've seen.

Oh ok, totally get it. Agree. This will be the test if this effect is valued at all outside of some specific combo, because it's the best version of these, but I do think you're right that this is still not enough for a typical blue/red deck.
Spell copying, again... and again, thankfully. Closest comparison would be Increasing Vengeance.

as a matter of fact this is teach by example but with a flashback cost
Teach has a much more flexible cost to balance Flashback on this

Speaking of ridiculous combos....attack to trigger raid, Galanic Iteration, Howl of the Horde, Lightning Bolt for 18 damage?

then you cast like 3 Shocks for 1UURRR

dude its upped to rare because of the flashback part
That is meaningless. And I was wrong, the version we just got was a bloody common that sees zero play.
Exactly what I was thinking.

Yeah, well plenty of rares are just more powerful or efficient versions of weaker cards that exist at lower rarities.
