Damn Gaea copying Yawgmoth's will is the best revenge ever.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
No, they will not rest until every color has a Yawgmoth's Will except White.
Also the artwork to this card is strangely hilarious to me. "Woah-oh-oh! Yo dude wassup?! I'm Gaea and I'm gonna Extreme Make-Over all over your desolate landscape! Radical!"
we are trying to give all other colors advantage for once green already has everything.
Black got yawgmoth's will then red got it with Underworld Breach now green gets it's suspend cost but you can hit it with cascade and freebie it
Oh for the million dollar question is this the first ever depiction of Gaea?
I don't know that it's supposed to be Gaea, herself. It's not Yawgmoth depicted in Yawgmoth's Will. It's a Phyrexian or something Yawgmoth wills from the graveyard. That was always my take on it. This might just be a treefolk, dryad, or elemental that Gaea is willing to do something.
I can see this mattering in Limited, but in every other Constructed format there is so much graveyard hate that it probably won't be relevant.
Stuff like this is always relevant, no matter the hate.
Yawgmoth's Will is banned in legacy and restricted in vintage because if it wasn't it would run Rampant. Past in Flames has seen quite a bit of play over the years. Underworld Breach is also banned in legacy.
the effect is so crazy powerful that it doesn't really matter how much hate there is.
someone will break it and it will be relevant.
It's definitely just a fine card to suspend turn 1. I think this is more likely to be an As Foretold card than a Cascade one, because of how much these effects rely on low cmc cards to operate.

that’s true
but Thing is last time we heard of gaea was dominaria revist and this treefolk/elemental is more female like than any other thing referencing gaea and gaea is described as a female.

I do not disagree with your assessment; however, I never think about Legacy because I am not independently wealthy.
This is the green Yawgmoth's Will...and it is pretty strong because it allows you to play all kind of spells and, if needed or possible, even lands from your graveyard.
Amazing when seen in the first two turns.
I don't think that it is Legacy and Vintage material, but Modern for sure.
I know this is supposed to be a throwback to Yawgmoth's Will but I can't help that the Rest in Peace clause on Gaea's Will hurts Landfall decks more from being able to abuse sacrificing lands as a resource for card advantage where as something like Life from the Loam doesn't have that kind of drawback making it more flexible to work with plus the Dredge trigger makes it even more playable especially for machine gunning players with Seismic Assault.
So unless you'd rather wait 4 turns to cast this or find a way to Buyback Clockspinning multiple times to remove the time counters I'd much rather go with Life from the Loam instead. I wanted to be excited for Gaea's Will but at the same time it just doesn't live up to the hype. Love the artwork though. Unless If there was a way to get lands back from exile then I'd have a second opinion and Riftsweeper doesn't cut it for that sort of thing.

Gaea was also the figurehead of the original Weatherlight during the Invasion saga. I think she's formless but typically depicted as female. So it's more of an anything goes type of deal when she's being represented. More ineffable than Yawgs tbh.

To add insult to injury, we have multiple frame treatments for this card.
