* I don't know what the first box is, but it is very nice
* Collector Booster featuring a beholder
* Unknown female character (for me) on the prerelease pack
With how prominent Gwenhwyvar is on the art, Drizzt seems like he's is about to steal Tolsimir's schtick. Was wondering if there would be a seperate "Cat figurine" card or something.
I wonder if this is not your average everyday Illithid, the glasses and apparel make him seem significantly less aberrant.
Would love to see Twinkle and Icingdeath equipment cards too.

STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.

$5 says they'll make it part of the Totem cycle but they will make it multicolored to activate. (Another $1 says they'll just make it a multicolored artifact too which I think is a bad decision but I would still expect it.)

Completely forgot about these!! Agree 100%. Legendary equipments. Make them give an additional benefit if you dual-wield them. Might be tribal-focused on Warriors. Who knows--would love to see these.
Would also love to see Taulmaril and Khazid'hea as well. Will keep my fingers crossed.

@Tiro: Octopus Humanoid is called a mindflayer. No relation to sea creatures, alas. They have a bunch of interesting lore around them (escaping into the past from a doomed future, living in communities arranged around a disembodied brain that they worship, eating the brains of others for nourishment) but I doubt that they fit in sea monsters dot dec

That's alright, they still sound like an interesting race
I hope they have all of The Companions i.e. being Drizzt Do'Urden, Bruenor Battlehammer, Regis, Catti-brie, and Wulfgar as legendary creatures. Also Acererak the Demi-Lich would be fantastic. Mechanics that i could see in the set are party, traps, level up.

Nice picks for mechanics, though I think that party would be a bit insufficient (I think that we are going to see the 4 party classes, plus Druid and Warlock like we were seeing in strixhaven, plus the return of artificer and barbarian, with the emergence of bard as a class).
As far as new mechancis... while I do not support actually referring to dice rolls in black border, I could see them using a mechanic that *could* be resolved with a dice roll such as.
Endeavor X (Randomly choose a number between 1 and X)
Haktos from Theros Beyond Death and Tibalt's Trickery already introduce the idea of randomly choosing a numeric value so why not use that as a mechanic that *could* be resolved with dice without *requiring* players to have it (they could also pick a number out of a hat, for example).

IIRC Party is already confirmed not in. Don't remember who (probably MaRo) but someone mentioned that Zendikar Rising's design team offered party to the Forgotten Realms design team a few times but they refused. As for the others, all possible but I assume there was a conscious effort to make sure Forgotten Realms didn't felt like Zendikar since D&D was a core inspiration for Zendikar.
As for potential legends, I'll be okay with anything as long as we get Lolth. I'll die happy as long as we get the typeline "Spider God" in a card.

Why would you hate a dice mechanic? A coin can technically be seen as a D2 (although it doesn't roll), and when people need to choose random numbers, they'll most likely use a die anyway. I never understood why coins were ok but not dice, I want a black border Goblin Bookie already!

Sorry for my possible english mistakes, I'm not a native speaker.
Aside from Drizzit & the whole gang, Wulgar, Regis, etc, I would hope more to see Artemis Entreri and Jarlaxle.
I don't think we'll see anywhere near that much representation from a single source, but Crenshinibon would probably be a sick card. Also Cadderly? Liked his books.

I would say Jarlaxle is almost a given due to how prevalent he is in the recent D&D FR campaign books. I predict the main characters will be in the main set but the commander products give an opportunity for other lesser known characters to get a card. I think we're more likely to see characters from the campaign books than the novels as this is a D&D crossover (other than the obvious givens like Drizzt and co) which we can see with Timat who was the central villain for 2 of the 5e campaign books.
My prediction for characters who will almost certainly get cards: Tiamat (known), Drizzt, Guenhwyvar, Bruenor, Cattie-Brie, Wulfgar, Regis, Jarlaxle, Entreri, Volo, Elminster, Minsc & Boo, Mordenkainen, Xanathar, Llolth, Mystra, Bahamut, Bane.
For other characters there's so many ways they can go with dozens of deities and lesser known characters throughout the realms.
I don't know anything about DND but I am interested in the canary mage and octopus humanoid.
Don't worry Tiro we're almost certainly going to get a Dragon Turtle which is one of the more famous D&D Sea Monsters. Krakens also feature heavily in Ghosts of Saltmarsh which is a campaign book from the last 2 years so expecting to see a good representation of undersea gribblies. There's Aboleths which are huge undersea monstrosities that use Psionic powers like Mind Flayers and are incredibly intelligent. For humanoid races we have Sahuagin which are a race of shark people, Kuo-Toa half-fish/half-men and all manner of mer creatures that inhabit the oceans and inner seas of Faerun.
* 3(!) Set Boosters, featuring unknown (for me), mind flayer and a blue dragon
* Collector Booster featuring a beholder
* Unknown female character (for me) on the prerelease pack
The first box is the storage box that comes with the fat pack/bundle.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
