I am a bit confused by Augusta. So, you tap your guys to attack, then they all untap and you choose who gets tapped again, giving them either +1/+0 or +0/+1 and pseudo-vigilance, right?
Neither of the RW legends seem to fit Lorehold flavor though. I thought the orc was Prismari before I got to the bottom and saw White for the back. The Red just gets a generic red ability and the White is combat focused, but a little weak. I'm not sure if casting the White side is worth it.

Yeah seems like that.
Shadrix is strange in a 1 vs 1 match. I mean you don't want to give any of those effects to your opponent... If he doesn't have any creatures you could buff his board but in the same way it seems like the best option for yourself if the board is empty. The Inkling has flying and can block this dragon and giving your opponent an additional hand card seems... bad. And you have to choose two, right? It doesn't say "up to two". He seems to be a commander legendary, in some kind of political deck. The simic legendary is what I am hoping for white.

Shadrix Silverquill looks amazing, both in art and playability. Seems to be a powerhouse against Control - here, have a +1/+1 counter for all your nonexistant creatures and I'll draw one extra card every turn, thank you very much. The fact it's a very cool political/go-wide Commander and a beefy flier that can generate instant value is the icing of the cake.
Sculptor/Sonata seems... fine, I guess. If you run plenty of Instants/Sorceries, Flamethrower Sonata is neat, and we have the Zendikar Spell/Land cards that can help you hit a critical mass of spells if you want to. Sculptor is very situational, seems unplayable unless you exile a card with at least 3 MV, and even if you exile something big it's just a big dumbo without evasion and marginal protection - reminds me of Myriad Construct, except it comes with an actually useful backside attached to it.

That is correct. Not entirely sure why not just print "untap any number of creatures" but hey, at least this wording makes it a powerful Inspired enabler, I guess?
I'm not sure how I feel about Shadrix. I guess there are appropriate settings where some of those modes make sense targeting your opponent but I don't know...
What the eph is up with Augusta? (COol art btw). I want to know what the fractual tokens look like.

They certainly turn the game more and more online, as DFC's are fiddly to play with in person. Like can you imagine if you had a deck with like 20 of these in, which could be very possible in upcoming Standard.

It's also in Black and whether playing against control or landing removal on a few creatures, it's entirely possible putting +1/+1 counters on their creatures won't matter, especially if their board is empty. You could even cast Shadows' Verdict or something similar to wipe the board without touching Shadrix Silverquill.

Really disappointed by that elder dragon. They could have printed him in the commander decks and go for pure battlecruiser awesomeness... instead we got this thing

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Hi, I play werewolves during Innistrad 1 standard. Just get sleeves -shrug-.
1) The game is already fairly costly, requiring additional accessories to play with your cards can leave a bad taste in one's mouth.
2) Having to take cards in and out of sleeves to play them is, as the OP said, fiddly.
DFCs are the game mechanic where I have the most wildly disparate opinions about. I think the design space it opens is clever and quite flavorful and accurate, but the actual playing with them physically is irritating. I've been thankful to not be playing in person this year because the year of DFCs was not something I was looking forward to.

I think I like the new mechanics, but I don't really have a lot of love for these cards. Ward is a simple addition that makes sense, and it's interesting that it's across all colors, I guess I had assumed it would be mostly WU but the explanation about life loss being the cost in BR makes a lot of sense and I think really sells me on the mechanic. Learn is also very elegant, though the outside the game thing has never been something I've really loved even back to the Wishes. Magecraft, I think will be best evaluated by how it's employed on individual cards but so far I'm interested.
I don't really love the setting or aesthetic, but I think the mechanics of Strixhaven hold some promise. It should be an interesting spoiler season.

Point is its happened before (likely twice though not sure if werewolves where much of a thing during Innistrad 2) and people seemed to be able to get along just fine then.
And if you don't want sleeves, just use the checklist/blank card they now have are just as easy as lands to get a hold of.

Today we see how all the different card variants will go down this time, and the mechanics of Strixhaven, including the new evergreen mechanic Ward.
EDIT: Added two more Lessons
I am head over heels over this set. Still processing it all and it's just the first day of reveals!

Also was thinking this would be the perfect set to bring back the Spell Mastery mechanic. Oh well.

We get it. They sell packs. Maybe, just maybe, its because their designs are so pushed.
What i mean is white and red can sell a pack too if they actually got some design space and were pushed too

Why? I think they're awesome. More decision-points = more interesting games and more chances for skilled play to matter.
