So it's either an Equipment for 2 that gives +2/+2 and menace to something for 4 mana (6 mana total investment, yikes), or a 4/4 with menace for 5 mana. Supposedly this is a cycle, but our only point of comparison so far is Giant's Amulet.
The equip cost of this card is too much. Most of the time the correct play would be to "Kicker for the token" as it is cheaper and provides card advantage. I guess equipping directly has some advantage to equip to a creature that can attack on that turn.
The other Equipment mechanic ended up being created during set design and appears on a cycle of uncommon cards. Each is an Equipment that has a cost you can pay when the card enters the battlefield. If you pay it, you create a creature token (all the ones chosen for this cycle come from the ten creature types associated with the realms) that the Equipment then attaches to.
Based on the other tokens previewed so far the remaining equipment seems to be for: W 4/4 Flying Angel Warrior, like in Starheim Unleashed EDIT: There is also the 1/1 Human Warrior, so this is more likely U Giant Wizard, already previewed in Giant's Amulet R 2/1 Dwarf Berserker, like in Reckless Crew G 1/1/ Elf Warrior, like in Elven Ambush
So far I am not impressed, but hoping the white and red ones are better given that they have equipment synergies.
Am i wrong or this is way weaker than giant's amulet?

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
So it's either an Equipment for 2 that gives +2/+2 and menace to something for 4 mana (6 mana total investment, yikes), or a 4/4 with menace for 5 mana. Supposedly this is a cycle, but our only point of comparison so far is Giant's Amulet.
