Wow, ok. Well that's a fantastic rate. And the boast ability hits creatures too, so could be quite good in any deck with sacrifice fodder.
Not sure about the flavor of a berserk, eradicating angel "boasting" of its feats, and getting a kill out of it. Having it as an attack trigger still makes sense, but I don't think the specific flavor of boasting fits this one.

For this set you can't think of these as traditional angels. They're Valkyries. They didn't use the creature type for the same reason they didn't use Viking. They're regional terms so that's why we have Angel, Berserker, Warrior, etc. "Angels" are just the closest equivalent in MTG terms.
How relevant is hexproof from walkers in standard right now? Cause otherwise this feels like Nighthawk Scavenger for one more mana. The boast ability is cool and all, but saccing one of your one creatures to make them sac one of theirs is one of theirs is medium at best. Maybe it'll be better than I think though with making blocking akward.
I was thinking about Questy B yesterday (because it's the only thing that gives me any game against walkers) and cane to the conclusion that QB's power isn't a testament to green as much as a testament to how badly we need walker solutions. This is not that, Hexproof from Walkers is cute but Ugin's -x still sees it. Admittedly, I'll take anything that can punch players and walkers at the same time but haste or 1 more toughness would have been awesome.
You can still declare the attack and activate the ability afterwards before blocking right? It doesn't seem to have any timing restrictions other than your turn. The two mana cost hurts.
I am wondering in which direction they want to go with the Valkyries overall. I though it would be life gain. Valkyrie Harbinger, Righteous Valkyrie
In addition to a bunch of Angels with lifelink.
This one is crying aristocrats. We got Rampage of the Valkyries what is similar.
Ah and a self mill one with a life gain effect Renegade Reaper.

Ok, but I wasn't saying I had a problem with the angel creature type. It's that I don't think "handmaiden of the gods who chooses who lives and dies in battle / who goes to the afterlife" fits boasting flavor to me. (Boasting is bragging about your accomplishments.)

With how the timing of the steps of combat works, this will make it easier to get damage through in a lot of games and is an 8 point life swing that's already hard to block in Standard. In EDH....it's a sac outlet that also kills one of your things. i definitely see it playing a role in aristocrats in EDH and being a powerhouse in Standard. Boast aside, the other abilities at that rate seem too good not to see Standard play.

Project Booster Fun makes it less fun to open a booster.
Great card, but boast ability sucks hard. You want them to sac before combat, never after
I apologize if I’m mistaken but can’t you activate boast effects before blockers are declared?
If that's true than bravo to you, the card is suddenly much better
Not that I'm saying this is the best play but as I understand it you can Boast as soon as you have declared attacks, which means that any of the various tokens that come from attacking are available to abuse and your opponents have quite difficult block assignments to make.
Tbh hexproof from planeswalkers isn't that great. Like what planeswalker are you protecting yourself from in Standard right now? And this card just seems nowhere near good enough beyond Standard.

It doesn't though. Ugin's second ability eats this.
Wait, they still use "hexproof from" even though protection is a thing again? Seems overly complicated for no reason.
Cool art.
They changed from using protection from blank awhile ago because its too all encompassing a mechanic.
They also brought "Protection From" back recently (See Sigrid, God-Favored), hence their confusion. I think the issue is that Hexproof from was never intended entirely as a replacement for Protection, it's just viewed as a variant on Hexproof now.
In Limited, it's usually a 4/3 flying lifelinker. In Constructed... well, how much do you hate planeswalkers?

Anywhere else, its probably irrelevant, even if its not total garbage from its stats alone.
But 3 thoughness is already a issue.
4 mana for a do-nothing card is a problem, so its a hard pass for older formats (and also stinks in Multiplayer games).
In most cases Rankle, Master of Pranks does a much better job than this card if the goal is to eat planeswalkers and creatures.

Pretty relevant I'd say.
