Art in this set looks like it'll be good. Unlike Zendikar. Hope Snow will be confirmed as a mechanic. Good to see more of it in art. I want SNOW WORLD COMPLETELY.
Tree art is my fave. Love the realms it contains. Hit that trope well.
Niko being from Theros is interesting, they don't really feel like a Theros PW (which tend to be swole af or scholarly/philosophical) but hey, any reason to return sooner or later. I've always wanted to see what happens when a Theros native encounters other gods (Gideon's experience on Amonkhet was neat, so let's see how gods contrast with them on Kaldheim). IDK how the whole non-binary aspect clashes on Theros, but considering the wisdom of the plane, and how it's lead with Kynaios and Tiro, seems like the place of progress you'd want and expect it to be, so props to my plane.
Man that Kaya key art is another example of me wanting key art to be for the actual cards, not just the boxes. Her booster art is also good, but still. I want to collect the key art on cards. Same with the ship sailing in wintery seas.
Come on, give me a Snow Creature - Kraken at long last.
Those are nice lands with snow with them. Though doing a quick ctrl+f search didn't pull up snow mechanically being a feature. I just want an article that shows a snow land and/or snow mana symbol.
Pretty sure we aren't getting any real mechanic details until Jan 7th.
Those runes--or what look like runes--looks AWESOMESAUCE ADSKASDGNASDGJASDGK. Also, that mountain with the forest on the foothills...that feels very Taiga-ish to me without being a direct original dual land reprint. Unless we're getting snow duals better than Highland Weald et al...
The forested waterfall might be the DFMC dual land art.

Wow so Kaldheim did have snow after all (obviously). I guess we didn't need pages of threads freaking out about it and complaints of being 'misled' lol

Protection from reason (Decadent_Creed can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by reason.)
"Kaldheim is coming to #*$&ing melt your mind hole."
"Available basically ^%ing everywhere – February 5"
"They live here. It's $#%ing *$()."
"We're also going to see and meet some pretty bad@$$ Planeswalkers."
This is so horribly cringey and awful. "Hey guys, let's use symbols to denote censored swear words! We're so rugged and cool and METAL!"
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
Ok, so Rhapsody of Fire and Amon Amarth... Thumbs up!
Angra... Those guys still exist? Man, I have their very first album from about when Alpha came out...
Mastodon... Honestly something I did not want to see. And I do not even know the other three bands...
I realize bands like Thyrfing or Týr are quite unknown, and maybe one should not overdo the Viking Metal aspect. But I'm REALLY missing Enslaved here.
Also, the bundle die is... a bit of a disppoinetment because of the color. The design is fantastic, but couldn't this have been like black-red swirls or so?? Shadow... and flame.

Snow or rage. WOTC decides.
I'm of the "there will be snow" camp but hedging my bets.
the picture of the demon there’s zombies behind it
so draugr based creatures (zombies) confirmed they might have abilities to get a lot of +1/+1 counters since in mythology they can grow at will and have super strength

"Obviously"? show me the confirmed proof and not just a pretty picture. We've had landart in the past that had snow on it and wasn't a snow land like with Tarkir. Better yet has anyone deciphered Ranar's mana symbol for [fortell]? As I distinctly remember that being an unknown factor.
@Borealis: I mean, Tarkir was also first and foremost a bottom-up wedge block, with only one of five factions having a snowy backdrop.
Kaldheim, on the other hand, is a bottom-up block and a decent chunk of the art shown so far shows snow. I'd rate the chances of snow as a mechanic happening at 90%.

They clearly didn't mean to type "Tarkir was bottom-up OTOH Kaldheim was bottom-up". So, yeah, silly typo right there. ^^

Heck, every day I wake up, I don't go out and kill people - and I'm rewarded by not having legions of enemies! Amazing how that works.
Although ninjas are experts of camouflage and concealment, they are actually horrible liars. This means that no matter where you are, you can shout out, “Are there any ninjas here?” and if there’s a ninja within earshot, he’ll be compelled to respond.
Does anyone else think the three landscapes here look like they could be dual lands? Looks like we have UG (Forest with frozen falls), RG (the obvious Taiga-looking one) and WR (The snow covered rocks with runes). Here's hoping they're a little bit better than the ETB-Tapped Snow duals from Coldsnap.

I don't know if you were around for the other thread but there were people freaking out that the cards that weren't in the set didn't have snow all over the landscapes. There were claims that WotC had misled them for a decade because they thought Kaldheim should be snowy. And it is. The complaints that the landscapes weren't snowy therefore WotC bad were unfounded and silly.
As far as the actual mechanic of snow which you seem to be conflating with my post, yeah we'll probably get it. It's not confirmed but I think there's a pretty good chance it will happen. No need to rehash the last thread but this time about the mechanic not being there. My recommendation would be the same. Wait and see until some of the set has been spoiled.

After seeing the Taiga, yes I did have that thought. I would love to see some new duals and am pretty happy with any new dual lands with basic land types. As far as them being the fabled new Alpha duals with the snow subtype, I think they are still too reticent to pull the trigger on those unfortunately. I have every reason to believe they'll be better than snow taplands like the last time though. I'm just hoping they have basic land types too, although it may be too soon after Ikoria.

wishywashynonsense
I will bold what I put in the last post. You want to be right, show it with proof. Ranar, the Ever-Wathcful is literally sitting in front of you and one of they key factors is the second set of text that talks about [foretell] and how he modifies the cost for it. Its a singular mana symbol. Its not . Which means it either costs a numerical number like 0 or its S.
Wow. Just wow. You're clearly confused and trying to have a different debate. I was talking about the landscapes having snow. People were complaining that the art of the pathways set on Kaldheim weren't covered in snow (the actual weather event, not the mechanic).
I can understand how me not specifying "snowy landscapes" in the original post can confuse a person and have them think it was referring to the snow mechanic but there isn't really an excuse to willfully misinterpret after the clarification. I'm not the straw man you're picturing in your head.
[instead of actually trying to prove hes right, would rather not bother deciphering a blurry image which might actually prove hes right than just using a pretty picture as said 'proof'.]
FTFY.
