Wait, what is this? Why is it tagged ZNR? What's going on here?
THE LIST is a curated set of 'pick-ups' that can appear in the new Set Boosters. They are identical to original print except for the planeswalker symbol, just like the cards from Mystery Booster.
I counted about 21 cards I'd be happy to open (being very generous about "happy", like archdruid or bolt). So less than 1/14, so about 1/80 packs that would make me happy. IOW, very little value is being added by THE LIST. Over-hype, what a surprise.
any gimmick to sell this flaming trash pile of a set i suppose.
would've been nice if they put effort into it to sell it on its own merit, and included relevant reprints in it as normal, dedicating more effort to balancing standard where necessary but sure i guess lets go with a gimmick instead
its a nice list... but its also a real *****ty list with no real theme or cohesion to anything. you can get an absurdly priced scroll rack, or you know, argothian scion. so we get a reduced chance to pull something from the list, and then an even further reduced chance to pull something of meaningful value from the list on top of that.
gotta keep them gambling away their dollars.
i'm just so absolutely over this FOMO gambling bull*****.
Whoa,
that is a lot of cool cards and powereful cards and expensive cards with awesome choices of arts as well.
Too bad it'll be so hard to actually pull one, none the less one of the good ones
so theres that
Again, WOTC is just on the gimmick, gimmick, gimmick train

Wizards can fold bills of 100$ into boosters and people will complain about how their bills were folded...
More accurately, they'd be critical of why WotC needed to bribe players with hundred dollar bills to begin with. There's also the novelty wearing off, compare the reactions to Zendikar 1.0 having priceless treasures inserts. (also, wow at threads with thousands of posts and omg 'seds!!!)
Pfff, seriously? All that hype with THE LIST(tm) and we have freaking commons or uncommons from sets currently in print? Imagine opening your set booster to open an...Anax? a 0/1 moth for W. I guess they are balancing out the insane value of the ZNR expeditons with like 90% of this list.

its time for this quote to die. its not relevant to their business practices any more. 10 years ago sure, but its 2020. things are ****ed.
you are not getting $100 bills in these. you have what, a 1 in 6 chance to pull from the list? then how many chances in that chance to pull something worth more than $5? some of these cards aren't even playable because they're just bad cards.
all of this while they have direct control over what can be reprint, and included, in any given set, at any given rate.
so tell me again how great it'll be to pay more for a set booster, and open an argothian scion, or a willow dryad.
this is gambling. plain and simple, and you're taking the bait.

Opening boosters was and always will be a gambling. The potential to open Grim Tutor is offset by the potential to open Anointed Priest and vice versa. Now, I don't like the fact that this feels like a bribe and them not confidant in their main set, but I also don't hate this product. You buy a set boosters, get some fun art card/foils/theme cards and maybe a chance for glory, just like any other booster product since Alpha. Also I do appreciate the fact that they reprint expensive cards in this. More reprints in a print to demand set is a good thing, no?
Why the hell is Dromar, the Banisher still in old border?
That’s an unnecessary slap in the face
The cards are straight copy-paste from the previous printing (a "straight pickup"), no new borders, updated wording, etc. just like Mystery Boosters. They will have the PW symbol added to the bottom left corner to differentiate from original printings.

You're looking at this wrong. The pack has a dedicated token slot, but sometimes you get one of these instead. Its a surprise bonus, not something you're getting shafted of if you don't open it, just like foils in regular sets.
'"The List" has commons, uncommons, rares, and mythic rares which will fall at the proper rate to one another.' from https://mtg.gamepedia.com/The_List .
What the f*ck does that even mean?
I think the negative people on here are being absolutely ridiculous. Physically, could every card on "the list" be a 5$ plus card. Yeah, is that good business for any company. Come on, think a bit people. This is supposed to be fun, There's weird choices here (imperial seal poster, scroll rack is a needed reprint), that can be fun. As was said, boosters are a gamble if monetary value is your only metric. I like opening boosters (specifically playing booster battles with them) This looks to be, hands down, the best booster for the cost to just crack open. Gurentied foil, (small) chances at extra rares, weird random cards, full art land (nice for zendikar ones btw). Hands down worth the extra buck on a draft booster. And I bet that's true monitarily as well for what it's worth.

It's really fast but lucky we have the cards spotted already
My jaw dropped when I saw scroll rack and cruel tutor
and this is how the cards will look and each set booster has different switch ups each time
On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:
Low-power cube enthusiast!
My 1570 card cube (no longer updated)
My 415 Peasant+ Artifact and Enchantment Cube
Ever-Expanding "Just throw it in" cube.
These are "the List" cards that show up in place of a token in something like 1-6 Set Boosters (not draft boosters)

It's from the set boosters of ZNR is why it's mark
And they said each sets lists are slight different

I also wonder what the other 8 cards are and why they're not revealed.
