Hahaha, hasn't Commander's Quarters been dismissive of mana rocks for 3 in Commander? WotC stays trolling their preview outlets.
It does get better when kicked, you usually look for a mana rock to generate an average of one mana for costing 2 which the kicked version does. The copies enter tapped, which is consequential. I feel that this drops too late for the early game and is a touch too late by the time it generates three mana, but Gilded Lotus sees play in tens of thousands of decks and this is a more flexible version of that which also protects itself from removal. It'll definitely see play, and will be potent alongside cards that double tokens.
I like it! I think it's got to be one of the better 3-mana rocks in EDH.
Baseline is darksteel ingot and the kicked version is a better gilded lotus - I think this may just be the first 3 drop rock for most commander decks (even over commander's sphere}

Yeah you may be right. Commander's sphere is so budget though that it will certainly see more play than this just do to availability. I still like chromatic lantern more in a 4 or 5 color decks that wants the fixing earlier. But this is still quite lovely.
This is gonna replace every single one in everybodys decks because you can get clones for 3 more mana
Probably not, I expect this will be outside most budgets so many will continue to rely on Ingot and Sphere as the more affordable options. I don't anticipate owning one for all my decks, perhaps I'll make the investment for decks that really need the ramp or can take advantage of splitting it into extra artifacts. Competitive folx, though, will be making the upgrade for sure.
So kick this once while you also have either a Darksteel Ingot, a Darksteel Citadel, or a Cascading Cataracts and you can start doing the equivalent of wildfire stuff more reliably without the immediate need for a Darksteel Forge or other cards that grant mass indestructibility to your stuff in EDH.
And if you have a reliable way to pop the original relic to your hand you can just repeatedly kick it from more tokens of itself. And since it is an ETB, effects like Panharmonicon give you the effect twice. And effects that double the tokens like Doubling Season give it more value.
Darksteel Ingot gains kicker to make tapped clones of itself.

But it still does enough work on its own.
If you can bounce it and play it again, you are ready to go in mass production of relics each turn.
Really really nice with Emry, Lurker of the Loch, Kuldotha Forgemaster and all the artifact friends Sharuum would play anyway.

Very solid mana rock!
this is at least a decent rock regardless given that it taps for any color and is indestructible. casual edh builds will want it.
find a way to make more of the tokens, or bounce and recast this thing, then slap a mechanized production on it and call it a day.

Cornucopia still has a base 0 cost going on and the posibility of being proliferated
I like it in Kinan, 3 mana rock for 1 card is solid.
