I like the storm caller for blink decks. It doubles up cloudshift/ephemerate to let you target stormcaller and another creature, letting you copy another spell.
man i don't know where to even begin with this thing.
that it can copy without being kicked is great, that deserves the rider of 2 or less to prevent abuse, works great with lightning bolt, or thoughtseize, or any number of low mana cards
where i run into a problem with it is the kicker cost.
7 mana to copy a mana cost 2 or less spell... twice instead? so i need to not only at least 8 mana up to cast this guy plus a spell, but he has to resolve too. at that kind of mana investment i should be winning the game not lightning bolting 3 times. and yes fine sure, bolting 3 times will probably win you the game, but the formats where it can do that aren't getting to 8 mana, or letting this thing resolve. with that absurdly high kicker cost the 2 or less clause should've gone away when kicked.
honestly, they should've just left the kicker ability off completely if it was going to be that kind of half assed mess.
If only Prowess cared about spells on the stack and not whether you cast them or not.
I think someone in another thread complained about there not being enough kicker support (so far). I think this is the top of the crop for that support.

May not be great for standard, but will be great for my Riku of Two Reflections deck, as you can lay the Sea Gate down (get an extra with Riku), then cast something big then cast something like Reverberate for even extra gains.

The design goal of the card seems to be to be good with kicker synergies.
This likely has kicker because it's design goal was to be a blue mystic with kicker for kicker synergies. There are the new charms for two mana with have kicker which can be copied by this card.
In many respects the non-kicker version of this card compares very well with snapcaster mage. You save on mana by having both spells cast at once, but lose the very important flash part. Furthermore, that kicker opens up potential for accidental efficiency late game.
Sea Gate Stormcaller reminds me of Brazen Borrower where at the beginning everybody complained that the blue mystic isn't strong enough and it turned out to be strong enough to be played in all formats.

did they? What I remember is tons of people comparing Brazen Borrower to Vendilion Clique during spoiler season and saying that they were comparable.... and they are, indeed.
about this mage I really think it's worse than Dualcaster Mage by a pretty wide margin.
and Dualcaster Mage isn't even that good to begin with.

This card was leaked last month.. Watch Blake try to get Crawling by Linkin Park stuck in your head anyways.
Meanwhile, this card was found lurking around in the Card Image Gallery.
