The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.
So for 1 and losing the ability to draw on my opponents' turn, my Deathreap Ritual is now a 5/4 Elf. Seems decent in Limited.
Seems pretty good all around. It trades the vulnerability of being a creature and a more expensive cost for being a threat on its own and being more fetchable/recurrable. It'll see play in any deck that wanted Deathreap Ritual, and potentially in additional decks as being a creature is more desirable in some decks.
It's a bit obvious an uncommon signpost card for GB, it would have been good to see a different kind of death trigger in GB even if I understand why they like coming back to this one.
Twinblade Assassins is a fine limited card, but the comparisons to Deathreap Ritual, at least as far as commander is concerned, are not nearly as good as some in this thread are suggesting: ritual can (and should, if the deck is made properly) draw you a card each turn, so in a pod of 4 players that's a ton of cards. Whereas the assassins only can (and should) draw a card on each of your turns. Where the ritual is a card drawing engine, assassins draws 1/4 the cards and is better off being compared to weaker card draw like Phyrexian Arena.

You're absolutely right, I'm not sure how I forgot that Deathreap Ritual looks at every turn and not just your own.

Another fun one for meren and other aristocrat decks in commander
Kills me it's only your endstep
Huh, the first card I thought of was Twinblade Slasher.
It sounds vaguely like it should have been a legend of some kind, actually. Partner with itself?

I'd like a card like that, or a redo of Brothers Yamazaki to allow that very thing (with a "you can have only two in the deck" kind of clause.)
