This spell costs X less to cast, where X is the total power of creatures you control.
Volcanic Salvo deals 6 damage to up to two creatures and/or planeswalkers of your choice.
If it said, you win the game and bought you dinner it would be better... As it stands, a two for one in commander for 4-5 Mana, sometimes 2, is pretty cool.
Thank god they are starting to put "creature or planeswalker" on things

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Well... no. You have to have 10 power to do that for two mana. If you have, say, 6 power you do it for 4 mana. Which is a pretty good deal. It’s still not a good card. But it could be fine if something like Chandra’s Incinerator sees play.
That it can already be seen from a large distance is a meager consolation if one can't get out of range quickly enough.
I'd guess you need at least 6 power on the board to make this kind of worth it. And then it's not even an instant. AND a rare... Would have been fine as an uncommon, but pulling this as your rare... Meh!

Apologies. Half paying attention math error, did it based on 10 total not 12 total. Still 6 is a fair price to kill two large things with the option of walkers. Not a great, staple level card but it has potential.

I would agree, 1RR and 3 are both perfectly fine prices to pay for "Destroy target creature or Walker". Stapling them together and making it "maybe destroy up to 2 target creatures or walkers" feels fine. The fact that sometimes it's 3RR or 2RR is fine too. It's a great way to clear the board before an alpha strike. Perfectly fine in limited potentially playable in constructed. Anax, Hardened in The Forge and Runaway Steam-kin with a dork or two basically makes it RR which you could probably pay with counters from the steamkin.
As a commander player this card... annoys the hell out of me...
Damage based removal is BEYOND weak in commander and there are so many ways to stop it... Red needs a way to deal with Indestructible, big toughness creatures, and/or pro-red... this is not helping.. at all

So it gets around Shroud/Hexproof/Kira/Kasmina type effects. I mean that doesn't make it GOOD, given protection and indestructible, but it's an interesting quirk.
What holds back this card from being appealing is the fact that it is a sorcery and not an istant.
Paying this card 1RR is still fine and it should be rather easy to cast it on turn 5 and 5+.
It should usually be able to kill 2 targets, so it is good when we are able to cast it.
My vote is 6/10 = not bad, but also not that good either.
