Selfless Rescue Dog W
Creature- Dog
Sacrifice Selfless Rescue Dog: Another target creature you control gains indestructible until the end of the turn.
"The fortunate stray received a happy life from encountering her loving owner when she was young. In return, it repaid her with this final sacrifice."
1/1

Someone in Wizards wants a dog to die at all times in Standard.
Given that they won't give Standard or Pioneer Benevolent Bodyguard, yes, this seems pushed. (I'm assuming the translation is correct here: I've seen some bad translations in the Rumor Mill for this set, with anything from missed information to outright unbelievable card names.)
Of course, the final thing Wizards could have done to push this harder would be to make it grant hexproof instead of indestructible. Targeted exile, -X/-Y, and tuck effects are still too common.

You could always do the translations for us.
Give me half an hour and an exclusive preview nobody else will post first and I just might. "Whale Whale" was a TERRIBLE translation given that none of the words in that card's name were repeated and only the last word was in the creature type section.

Indestructible works with combat and mass removal though.

Excuse me? Whale Whale is my early pick for favorite card name in the set and I will be sorely disappointed if it turns out to be something else.
So, this is a vanilla 1/1 for 1 unless you are a soulless piece of trash. Well played, Wizard, well played.
Just wait until an opponent tries to Grab the Reins of your little buddy. You gonna watch them do that and then sacrifice your dog for their own benefit? ...or will you sacrifice it first to prevent that defilement?
This is the flavor text that evokes the most feels I think in a Magic card in history. I never sat and teared up so hard at a card. If you’re a dog owner, this just runs through your head as their last memory of them saving you.
Phew

Ah, you're right. Genius.
It's free rather than 1 for the trigger
And try to avoid making dogs so we lose them unless recurrable
