So if may companion gets exiled? I could still cast it again? am i right?
It's kinda meh that Mutate isnt for human creatures
I wonder If R&D is thinking that vehicle and equipment should had those kind of condition like mutate is
Nope rules say once and only once
It’s also the first time you can actually have a sideboard in commander (you can have 101 cards just as long as the companion rule complies for your deck)
That’s why they had to do the first ever emergency ban on the otter it’s condition is 100% of commander decks and it’s dualcaster mage

It wouldn't necessarily be 100% if there are competing companion cards in the same colors.
More proof that WotC is slowly pushing the game to be better for digital than paper. They would avoided stuff like this like the plague back-when because of how memory intensive it is. At this point the game should just be an expanding board game primarily played with cards.
It's patently obvious when you consider that +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters are mutually exclusive for the express purpose of streamlining game play. The abrupt reversal of course signifies a major design shift for Wizards, and the underlying motivation is not so subtle...
Also it makes no sense that first strike and double strike exist as mechanics but two first strike counters won’t give the creature double strike unless an ability of the card explicitly states that, which just leaves a card that’s too incredibly narrow to be good. Then alot of people being understandably annoyed by this.
Edit- And the only two colors that really make sense for moving around keyword counters are blue and green.

*shrug* I don't really understand all the *****ing about keyword counters. None of those abilities have ever stacked. Why would they suddenly stack now? And bonus, they're completely opt in! You don't have to use them if you don't want to! And if you are going to take 2 minutes to get your hands on some of the punch outs. I'm sure LGS's (when they're finally back open) will have plenty that they'd be willing to give you. I bet if you order a card online and put in the notes field that you'd like one of those they'd throw it in. You just sound like a bunch of Boomers. "It's not the way I've always done it so it's bad!"
So, according to the thread search, noone here mentioned the term 'forge', yet. As in MtG Forge? Come on, they were spot on in designing some of these abilties' symbols!
...or were those symbols part of some officiial digital MtG product and Forge just implemented them..?

I don't know what Forge is but all of those with the exception of the Deathtouch one are all symbols used on Arena.

Agreed. Mtg already has a billion different kinds of counters, I don’t see how adding a few more is going to ruin the game.
Think about what "counter" actually means and think about its past context in the game. There was a reason why designers stayed away from creating a flying "counter" until this set. Like I mentioned elsewhere, WotC should have called these non-stackable abilities anything but a counter.

Oh you mean like "opposed to" like counter target spell? I don't think I've ever associated the game term "counter" with "stackable." They're just reminders of modifications to cards. Is there any evidence that they've avoided making keyword counters in the past as opposed to just haven't thought to do it in the past? I mean I think they specifically chose abilities that DON'T stack in order to forgo confusion. Two instances of First Strike have never in the past created double strike so why would that start now? I can't see any reason for this to be confusing other than you want it to be.

There's an error in the article from what I see. Since last I checked, the most recent UN-set added Trample to the keywords that activate on damage regardless of source, alongside Lifelink and Deathtouch.

I'm assuming you're referring to Super-Duper Death Ray. Unfortunately, that only applies to silver-border. In normal black-border play, trample does nothing outside of combat damage.
Has it been said how mutate works with clones, copy tokens or even permanents that become creatures until end of turn (like manlands or things like Mirage Mirror)?
What if i mutate a creature like Sturmgeist? Or something that has a power/toughness determining ability?
Thanks @Gutterstorm. MtG Forge from slightlymagic is an amazing open source tool that lets you play all cards and all formats against other people or a pretty sophisticated AI, plus you can even code in custom cards.

They said that once you cast your companion, it's just a regular creature. So if it gets exiled, I believe it remains exiled.

Maybe your group will let you play it just for the art if you promise not to abuse the mechanic..?
