Massively underwhelming (on the whole, there are of course a dozen or two nice cards), in my opinion.
From a personal standpoint, I run just 16 of these cards, and I have 27 EDH decks. Of those 16 only one (Wear/Tear) is in more than one deck, IE no multi-deck staples.
Harmonic Sliver, Manaweft Sliver, and Sinew Sliver!! Whoop! Whoop!
I’ll be interested in tracking down a copy of each, especially if they had new art! Harmonic Sliver is somewhat challenging to find nm/m foils Of.
My understanding is the art is of the most recently printed art. So... no new art.
Also... Storm Crow and Chimney Imp?....
Because Wizards thinks it’s better to give us meme cards, rather than something we might actually want and use. And this is in a set that costs nearly double the cost of a traditional booster.
Wait, soo those cards are only in foils? Well good for EDH people i think also good thing that not all the foils are good cards, staples or expensive cards... I mean, let the casual player have some fun, if all packs had good value sharks would just flip those boosters.
Ooh amulet of vigor that was needed too bad it won’t drasticly reduce it though
I mean... I think it's at least more common than a foil rare in a normal set?
1/121 as opposed to... They follow normal rarity distribution right? so 1/15 foils is a rare, and 1/3 packs has a foil, or 1/45 packs. For a SPECIFIC rare, you've got ~50+ rares/set so...1/2250? These are over 18 times more common than regular foils, it might not shift the price of normal ones, but the foil prices will take a POUNDING.

cant wait to get my hands on a Storm Crow. You have to appreciate what wizards is trying to sell here in boosters that cost more than a usual draft booster. especially in a set that is made for drafts. the draft experience u get from a storm crow... unmeasurable
So there is a real person sitting somewhere and thinks: "I got a limited amount of cards to pick from an almost unlimted amount of cards. I go with Storm Crow"
like really ?
i mean it is not just storm crow, that is just a representive for a bunch of cards i think are more than questionable. I mean Herald of Leshrac in a draft set is questionable for other reasons. (crow is just a low value card)
It’s a premium set that doesn’t have the normal amount of high-price items (whether you look at proportion or absolute #)... but it has 90% of all commons/uncommons people are interested in and gives you 1-3 rares per pack.
On an objective level, you get better EV from smaller sets with a higher proportion but tiny overall number of valuable cards. I know this to be true.
On the other hand, this set is one of the first that actually includes a whole ton of decent cards and is more hurt by its other inclusions than its exclusions... which, on an economic level, is what makes it ten able to print all of the good commons/uncommons to begin with.
This set turns every slot in your booster pack into a separate lottery draw, something not even Eternal Masters could do. To a certain type of player (those who enjoy cracking individual packs, I’d guess), this might make things more exciting. On the whole, though, I’m just happy that the price on a bunch of cards is going to see a slight drop.
This person gets it! Of that entire list, Harmonic Sliver is the only thing I want a foil of. They're very hard to find in NM/M condition Foil and are quite pricey, so any avenue we have for hard to find foils is welcome... Now I just need Root Sliver, Shifting Sliver, Sedge Sliver and Synapse Sliver to get Foil reprints and everything minus Queen will be foil.

There's definitely a market for Storm Crow. I'm pretty critical about the stuff WotC prints these days but the added foils in this set get a nod and a 'that'll do pig' from me.
This is so bad... Another lackluster, overpriced pack. Lots of those in the last decade...

So if I buy a pack (or more) I am probably going to get a foil Game-Trail Changeling and some jank 25 cent rare and get 2 bucks (tops) worth of cards for my 6 bucks plus tax. I may buy a booster or two for kicks but that is it. The floor is far to low for these packs in my estimation. I'll let others play the lotto on these.

STOP using "dude/bro" as a pejorative or insult. Grow up.
Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
This would be such a wonderful set if they would ask for a "normal" price per pack.
There simply no reason at all to charge MORE for these, if at all they should charge LESS , as non of these has new artwork, they save all the costs for artists, have 0 development cost for the cards and the only "effort" is to photoshop a tiny (and annoying) logo on the bottom left of the cards.
Seriously, i would praise this set and the idea, if these would be appropriately costed.
Its the major issue of this.
The idea to draft these is more than fine, and if they would do such a set every year with different cards, pretty much anything would have a reprint.
My LGS is selling packs at $6.99 CDN, which I guess is $5.00 or $5.50 USD. That's a bit more than normal, I imagine, but it's a massive lottery.
I think Saffron Olive sussed out that the EV is sky high at the moment but will likely tank in a bit so...get your stuff now!
