I'm still confused by this, consider Brawl decks could always contain EDH staples, there's no reason why they need to skip Brawl while promoting EDH, especially after their attempts during Eldraine only months ago.

I’m sure hearing a lot of “no” with Theros this time around. No brawl, no book, and with more hype being made for Ikoria while we waited for spoilers, no damns given either evidently
Maybe closer to rotation so there aren't the same cards in every brawl deck. I know there wouldn't be the same cards exactly, but maybe they want more variance year to year, or every other year for that matter.
I laughed at Tiro because I pictured him saying "No lore no Brawl" like Homer Simpson did in that one episode:
"No lore and no brawl makes Tiro something something."
Does anybody know how the Brawl decks with Eldraine fared? I wonder if that's one of the main reasons behind the decision. Whatever it is this isn't really doing Theros any favours at all. Someone drained their mana pool way before they should have in this circumstance.

I am certainly more hyped for Ikoria than I am for Theros. It seems to suffer from middle child syndrome - not as good as the eldest child (Eldraine) and not as fun as the youngest child (Ikoria).
The decision has already had an impact on Arcane Signet. The recent deck reprints had brought the price down to ~$5.50 from multiple sellers on TCGP over the last few days. As of this morning they’re hovering at about $6.75. If you’re in need of any, may want to consider pulling the trigger now.

It’s inteoducing kaijus to magic I think Ikoria is a more hype than theros
Kinda wish there were some Brawl decks for this set. It would be a great place to provide us with a Sea Monsters, Minotaurs, Heroes, etc decks.
What they should have done to diversify the card pool would be to reprint old Theros block cards to amp up the Brawl decks they could have made. If they were scared, they could have made them only legal in Brawl, but I don't think it would hurt standard very much to bring back some of the original Theros cards for a set of Brawl decks.
I feel like they implied they weren't gonna do brawl for every set, but I'm not sure when. Maybe it's just the sense I got when they announced all that commander stuff. They do seem to overlap a decent amount in terms of who brawl decks are for.
There ain’t gonna be brawl decks
So 2020 truely is the year of commander with Ikoria, zendikar ,persudo from the vault and commander legends
