Deathbellow War Cry could be interesting way to deal a crap ton of damage with Fanatic Of Mogis, provided that they print some minotaurs in the future that have triple or quadruple red in their costs.
I am bad with rules but, in modern, can I kill the opponent on the spot if I fetch:

What will you champion all those creatures with in this combo? And you can't stack champion creatures, if that's what this is supposed to do. Champion creatures replace another creature, they don't grant a bonus like Bestow.

Actually I get what they're going for this is essentially trying to do the Oblivion ring loop. So the champion loop does work since these are ETB triggers oppose to coming into play triggers ( Clone ) but this particular stated loop would not as we can see here represented by A( Fanatic Of Mogis ) and C,B,D (Champion Creatures)
A>B CD(Pending)
B>C A(Trigger) D(Pending)
C>D B(champion A)
The result is A under B and C under D with no loop created. Three champions does create a loop though so if you had some ETB trigger things this would be a interesting way to loop and kill your opponent, see Impact tremors, Purphoros, god of the forge, altar of the brood.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Not really - you can get a loop of the champions entering and leaving, but the Fanatic won't be caught up in it. You can Champion the Fanatic a couple of times, so it might do some decent damage depending on your current Devotion...
All 4 enter, stack the changelings on the bottom, and Mogis on top - Mogis resolves, deals damage.
1st Changeling champions mogis. 2nd Changeling Champions 1st Changeling, releases Mogis. deals damage.
But now you're stuck. You can have the 3rd changeling champion the second, which releases the first, etc - into a loop of the changelings - but your Fanatic of Mogis is not part of that loop. You can hide the Fanatic again, either by hiding it with the 3rd changeling, or by championing a champion until you decide to hide the fanatic...
Now, with this loop of changelings, you could have Impact Tremors or purphoros already out, at which point, yeah, they're dead - but then you don't need the Fanatic.

I can't believe I'm about to say this but with Irencrag Feat and a few rituals this might be a T3 win, Impact Tremors on 2, changeling storm on 3. About as glass cannon a list as you're likely to find anywhere but then what's the point of playing red (outside of burn) if you aren't going to gamble?
Big fan of the Sea Serpent. I'm really hoping that this set delivers with more Sea Monsters. My Arixmethes deck is honestly starving and needs some more fatties. I wouldn't mind getting another Simic legendary Kraken to up the deck's power level as well.

Keep singing my song sista yaaaas
I hope we get a saga about Arixmethes sinking with an effect that supports sea monsters. Another whelming wave variant would be amazing too. Frankly anything. And I’d love more Theros themed krakens. They always have unique effects and cool Greek designs and themes
Underworld Sentinel and Ironscale Hydra look like they might have some constructed value (considering the speed of current standard) but the rest looks very underpowered. They are basically limited bombs that end up in dollar bargain boxes in stores. I would be interested in some of those for my low power EDH decks but if they will cost more than a dollar or two then it's hard NO for me.
The Theme boosters are meant for new players. Why are they now including exclusive cards that experienced players would want?
Why does Wizards do anything they do? $
But stuff like this makes me want to spend less, not more.
Apparently both me, you and others are not significant enough part of the financial equation to be relevant. :/
As it was pointed out those are kitchen table level cards. Putting them into theme boosters probably lowers their expected value. "Probably" because some of those cards might be constructed playable or EDH players might want them enough that they will have some financial value. But that means that they will have inflated price only due to their artificial scarcity. This is an terrible idea from players point of view when you think about the financial repercussions of such distribution model.

All I want for her to do, or her saga to do, is, "Sea Serpents, Octopuses, Krakens, and Leviathans cost X less to play. Where X is your devotion to blue."

I love this idea! An enchantment or saga that does this would be brilliant. Assuming a saga, the other mode could be a whelming wave effect. But I do agree, the cost reduction is most welcome.
Huh... 18 posts and nobody is complaining over the decision to have exclusive theme booster cards.
I mean, theme boosters are the perfect places to put the high-CMC brawl plants a la thorn mammoth / workshop elders in the absence of actual brawl decks. I'm glad that cards like this can exit without taking rare up rare slots in the main set. The power level for these cards seem to be spot-on for for this function and I'm happy with them.
With that said, it only takes one Nexus of Fate-esque "miscalculation" to pump the value of a standard-viable card to $50+ and sour this idea... and the idea of making mythics in this way (effectively creating a "super-mythic" status with supplies between normal mythics and inventions) puts a sour taste in my mouth... not that either of those things are guaranteed to come soon.
As far as the cards themselves, I personally want quite a few of them as they are generically fun and decently designed.
So, yeah. Pretty happy so far. Just surprised that no harbingers of doom have descended upon the thread yet.
I'm torn. Yeah, one Nexus of Fate and the whole thing is a mess, but just looking at big box stores, the theme boosters sit on the shelves for months. I could still go out now and buy some from GRN, RNA, WAR and Core 2020. So I don't think supply would be an issue. And WOTC wouldn't hesitate to do a second printing if it was something really nice like that one card that was in the Commander deck a few years ago.
I think I may be skipping my usual bundle for this set since it won't have the fancy basic lands. I'll just buy these plus some draft boosters.
fairly sure serpent makes sea monster edh very combat oriented too. The cards are great design

you can search up Fanatic of Mogis, Kragma Warcaller, Rageblood Shaman, and Neheb, the Worthy (if you have one or no cards in hand or Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion). Fanatic deals 5/6 damage, and you attack with either 29 haste, trample, first strike power or 24 haste, trample power. Of course getting to 8 is the hard part. Combine with Irencrag Feat and it's essentially a 2 card 2RRR mana combo.
Edit:
More on this:
Let's pretend the goal is getting the combo out as early as possible. You can do this:
Land + Mana Dork
Land + Domri, Anarch of Bolas or other 1-3 1 CMC one mana producers or land untapper.
Land + Irencrag Feat --> Deathbellow War Cry FTW OR cast a 2+ mana accel such as Satyr Hedonist, Jaya Ballard, Chandra, Torch of Defiance, Vessel of Volatility, Chandra, Novice Pyromancer.
Land --> you should just have 8 mana so cast Deathbellow War Cry FTW
----
Actually forget that:
Land + Dork
Land + 1-3 1 CMC one mana producers.
Land + [[Fae of Wishes]] search for Deathbellow War Cry or Irencrag Feat
"Combo"
You can do this with:
3 Irencrag Feat
3 Deathbellow War Cry
4 Domri, Anarch of Bolas
4 Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner
4 Fae of Wishes
4 Llanowar Elves
4 Elvish Mystic
2 Kragma Warcaller
1 Fanatic of Mogis,
1 Rageblood Shaman
1 Neheb, the Worthy
1 Neheb, Dreadhorde Champion
