"Each deck has a returning keyword ability as its main theme. The four featured abilities are populate, flashback, morph, and madness."
The Commander series returns with four brand new ready-to-play decks for Magic’s most popular multiplayer format.
Each deck has a returning keyword ability as its main theme. The four featured abilities are populate, flashback, morph, and madness.
The Commander series is a great entry point for players interested in the format. Additionally, all cards included will be legal in Legacy and Vintage, piquing the interest of fans of Eternal formats as well.
I have no reason to believe this information is false.
This would mean we would get four decks:
1. Populate
2. Flashback
3. Morph
4. Madness
So far there is no information on the color, the amounts of colors, etc.
I can without a doubt say that the populate deck will have a token theme whereas the Flashback will have a GY-theme.
Madness will surely involve quite some discard, perhaps even wheels.
If this is true I will be happy but my wallet won’t lol. I think morph needs a good leader.

Embrace the dark you call a home,
Gaze upon an empty, white throne
A legacy of lies,
A familiar disguise
Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone
As someone who could care less about mechanics that aren't Devotion, Constellation or Monstrosity, meh. And even then, I don't care about those mechanics outside of Theros themed cards. I'm too Vorthos for mechanics driven decks. We'll see if I get more Theros and Kamigawa legends in these to care, or at least good reprints.
Populate: White/Green, easily.
Madness: Black/Red, likely. Could see Grixis.
Morph: Blue with others. Maybe Sultai or Temur.
Flashback: Unclear, would likely need White, maybe Red.

----- "I cannot tune a harp or play a lyre, but I know how to make a small city great." - Themistocles
Madness BR (we got grixis in 2017 is why I didn’t mention blue)
Populate GW (I think R is gonna get splashed in besides we got a few dinosaur token makers in ixalan so we could populate those)
Morph GUR (but could be 5-color since morph enters all 5 colors but I don’t think so because of 2017 dragon deck)
Flashback honestly this could be WURBG or UBRG (white had least but only just) because you pretty much have flashback in all colors and pretty even amount out of each color and it will be a real slap in the face if Catalyst Stone doesn't get reprinted in this
Populate - Abzan. It would be cool if some of the cards showed the Golgari working with the Selesnya, as Golgari likes making tokens also.
Madness - Grixis
Flashback - Esper
Morph - Jeskai
This way I’m hoping they can print the battlebond lands for enemy colors. They did a good job reprinting the talismans but enemy colors still need more support.
Also, if they could reprint Wheel of fortune for the madness deck that would be awesome.

We need to know the colors!!!
Because for example GW populate would be boring, ***** has been already done! Add red or blue!
lashback being dimir or grixis after Dralnu and Kess would look repetitive too

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
I can see these being the theme, but which would be the off-the-wall one (like the Esper one from last year)
For colors:
Populate - GW or RGW
Madness - BR
Morph - GWU
Flashback - UB or UBR
Wrexial, the Risen Deep will likely be in the Flashback deck, and if so would like to see new art on him. Incredibly long shot inclusion would be Snapcaster Mage. Commander will like give everything flashback or let you flash things back at instant speed.
It will be interesting to see how these decks play out and what is in them

Currently Playing:
Standard - Some kind of control
Modern - UB Mill (casual)
EDH - Meren's Grave Shenanigans
I think I just realized to make this more plausible of being correct
Remember maro told us some flavors of the deck
One is peppermint and other is cinnemon
and that fits for populate being peppermint and madness being cinnemon
and since peppermint is more known for being red/white and poppulate is only in white/green and some peppermint is in white and green so this is telling me red will probably be splashed in and alot of token making is in red
If this is true, I wonder how they are going to fit in characters from Magic's past. Considering how popular said characters are and how consistent they have been with this even outside Commander, this would be a no-brainer, so which ones could fit thematically with each ability?
Populate: Gaea, Mat'Selesnya, Kristina of the Woods
Flashback: Ashnod, Leshrac, Sifa Grent
Morph: Belbe, Ugin (Pre-Spark)
Madness: Anje Falkenrath, Ramaz
Just some rough ideas, of course. Any others I missed?

Doesn’t sound like anything I’ll be interested in, but that’s alright. My wallet might end up being thankful. They’d have to include something I never knew I wanted in a brand new exclusive card.
Point taken on not writing fully my thoughts I meant the colors the decks were mostly built around - it started from UG because of the draw and discard support + Circular Logic + 2 good green madness cards + one of two useful Incarnations. I really disliked the fact that in later times those colors weren't properly supported
I hope Populate somehow integrates black. Black tokens are neat and this is an opportunity to go outside Selesnya colors. Red or blue could be cool too, but regular Selesnya tokens should be playable with the deck and four colors is too much.

If populate expands into any new colors, I expect blue to be first on the list. It is a copy mechanic, after all. While black can do some really interesting things with tokens, there are more flavorful and mechanically appropriate avenues than populate.

We'll probably get a new version of Ixidor for morph
