What the **** the raptor combo with poliraptor so easily that it isn't even fun

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Forerunner of the Empire helps you from going in an infinite loop as well as netting you more dinosaurs. Its a may ability so you can decide how many dinosaur Polyraptor tokens you want.

Rotting Regisaur. Well I’m going to Faithless Looting, then innocently on turn 2 cast unearth on this and kindly cast a Reckess Charge. My apologies mate. I hit you for 10
I'm pretty sure a lot of stuff can be done with the zombified Regisaur in more casual formats, but I think people are overreacting a little. Right now there isn't so much stuff you'd actively want to discard in Standard, and having that guy hit by Tyrant's Scorn or Cast Down or pretty much any removal after you've discarded is giving your opponent a free 2-for-1. I can see it being played as an SB card though, an early 7/6 can send Mono-R and probably certain control builds into panic mode quite easily.

hit it with pacifism or luminous bonds and your opponent will be forced to kill it themselves or be forced into topdecking pretty early in the game.
The 3 mana 7/6 scares me senseless. Plenty of decks see discard as an upside in older formats and the fact that if you're empty handed this doesn't die is huge. Also since it's in your upkeep it means if you're empty handed you 'discard' then draw for the turn. I dunno... I'm all for pushing boundaries but this feels too far for almost no downside.
Just starting to think about that zombie dinosaur flavor... does the fact that it's a regisaur implies it's from Ixalan? even though nnecromancy is really rare there? is it from another plane, will we ever know?

1) Necromantic planeswalker? "Modriss" is clearly not a Torrezonais nor a... Sun Imperial? Pachatupan? name.
2) It's just not on Ixalan and there's another plane with a tyrannosaurus-like genus named regisaurs.
Forerunner was optional. You could choose not to have it fire and keep your army of dino's and proceed to the next phase. Even at worst, forerunner would eventually kill itself and the loop would break.
This isn't optional, and nothing in the combo will make it end. It will loop forever and the current phase will never end. And computer programs don't like things that loop forever. Hopefully it's smart enough to recognize the draw condition.
I'm sensing that either Polyraptor or Marauding Raptor are going to get banned, for the same reasons that Felidar Guardian got banned because of its combo with Saheeli Rai. Since Polyraptor's been out longer and MarRaptor has a lot of neat interactions with other Dinosaurs, I'm guessing Polyraptor gets the hammer. That, or they emergency errata MarRaptor to say "may".
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
dude!! Polyraptor is an 8 drop. No way either gets banned. This doesnt even win game right away as you have to wait a turn.
This combo could win on turn 6 earliest with ramp. Requiring opponent to ha e no creature removal spell and forcing you to play 2 bad cards??
Thatd be a terrible unplayable deck if anyone tried playing that combo deck. There are far quicker infinite combos in standard involving ral storm conduit which see no play at all.
Nexus wilderness reclamation "combo" is far more oppressive and isnt banned.
Edit as someone else pointed out polyraptor isnt even a may so this causes a draw as you are in never ending loop. Yeah this "combo" wont see play.

So, more Pirates when?
If they errataed it at "may" it would push it into mythic powerlevel. A 2 mana 2/3 that makes all your creatures cost 1 less with no restrictions and no downside? That's a little too much.
If they don't ban polyraptor I would love to see videos of people trying to break Arena with those 2
Unless they just make it so that the personal timer for the player who is comboing starts to run out and actually give the victory to their opponent for timeout.
Or they stop the combo, try to attack and then Settle the Wreckage their face.

not in mtgo though. MTGO has a token limit so once you hit the limit no new token->no new trigger. So you would get 201 polyraptors.

I experienced it many times with Forerunner of the Empire on board. How is this different?

This combo just draws the game. And it still doesn't happen before you can cast a Polyraptor (at a 1 mana discount).
This combo is actually poorer than the Forerunner combo, which usually does get you the win rather than the draw, and it tutors you up the Raptor too.
