I can't wait to obtain this card. I love the sea grass in the art instead of just being underwater with no detail. 4 CMC is excellent, we need lower cost sea monsters, and the scry 2 plays perfectly in fixing the curve to tuck away high cost members like Inkwell Leviathan for later, or setting up Quest for Ula's Temple. Excellent synergy and design.
I like it, might find a home in my Aminatou commander deck as it helps me control what is on the top of my deck when it enters the battlefield, plus it has a decent body attached to it.

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Definitely octopuses, as the root is Greek, so we add the -es. Latin changes -us to i (as alumnus to alumni). Octopodes is... acceptable, I think, but octopuses is so much fun (and grammatically correct).
I do prefer 8/8 (or maybe 4/4) octopuses, and I also think this would have been a cool Octopus Wizard or Octopus Shaman, but it's still fun!

We now have 8 Octopuses in MTG, 9 if you count Unstable.
*Octopodes.
No.....it is most properly "octopuses." Unless you really want to utilize the Greek in place of the accepted English, "octopuses" is the most commonly accepted plural in cephalopod biology.
Common usage != proper, but for the sake of forum propriety I'll halt that particular digression there.
And yes, I really do want to utilize the Greek, having resolved this exact same question with my etymology professor at UCLA some number of years ago. Of course, I'm sure you fine gentlemen / ladies boast respectable credentials yourselves...
On point: There are well over 30 different cards that either have changeling or reference it, so quite a few more octopodes than would be apparent at first blush.

I made sure to google it before I posted, and went with whatever version was highest on the page. Very scientific method.

When Prognoctopus enters the battlefield choose an opponent and an outcome (win/lose/tie). Reveal the top card of that player's library, as well as your own. If the card revealed by the opponent has a lower caster cost, and you chose win, draw 8 cards. If the card has a higher casting cost and you chose lose, gain 8 life. If both cards are equal and you choose tie, destroy 8 target non-octopus creatures. If you did not choose correctly, sacrifice prognoctopus and that opponent creates 8 0/1 tasty calamari treats with sacrifice this creature: gain 8 life.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

I've studied marine biology of invertebrates, specifically cephalopods, for over a decade now. But nice troll attempt.
