I look at it this way. Its Fantasy, anything can happen. Karn is running around with Urza's eyes. Emrakul got trapped inside a moon for crying out loud. If ML can planeswalk and Garruk can planeswalk then why not have them meet on Kaldheim and duke it out. I'm not a Vorthos so I really don't care. I just want to see the cards.

This could be impossible and ridiculous; not sure if timeline could match: Could Marit-Lage be the Leviathan that Bolas "defeated". Could he have made that story up too??

Impossible. The Talon Gates are literally part of its corpse. I get that Marit Lage is popular, but she doesn't deserved to be shoved into whatever random part of MTG lore that people think they can cram her, especially the stuff that's canonically impossible.

Bolas was a planeswalker long before the Ice Age, so it's definitely no possible. Bolas sparked long before Urza even existed.
especially the stuff that's canonically impossible.
By definition in FANTSAY anything is possible, this isn't real life and doesn't have to follow logic, science or canon. It doesn't have to fit, its FANTASY.

I didn't mean to imply I thought this was the case or even want it to be. It just popped in my head while reading through that I could see wotc finding a way to make it so.
"Marit Lage is actually that old Planeswalker and has been trapped since and he made it all up just like the rest of his ego boosting stories and has been told so long it has become history,...blah blah blah.....and now She's Free and ready to roam thanks to Bolas exile, blah blah blah , shes Eldrazi, blah blah

Yeah but that shouldn't be an excuse to **** with your world building and established canon
How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Agreed, but the game is called "MAGIC THE GATHERING", not "CANON THE GATHERING" or "REASON THE GATHERING". Magic is just that, fantastic, unbelievable, free of the shackles of convention and science. Short of that we are just going to get more Gatewatch Character X battles new Bad Guy character Y, blah blah blah. I would actually find it interesting that Garruk hunts ML and gets killed/obliterated due to his hubris. Would make for an interesting side story.

Don't have a particular problem with Garruk trying to hunt down Marit Lage. My issue is that currently Garruk hunts planeswalkers as they are "the ultimate hunt". No doubt helped by their ability to move plane. We don't even know if Marit Lage still exists in modern MTG continuity or if she can even still planeswalk (she existed long before the mending was a thing).
I just wanted to say that this is my absolute favorite card from MH (yes even more than Serra). Marit Lage is one of my favorite MTG characters. She is mysterious, a great dread sealed in ice, and a perfect fit for my Arixmethes deck, which now plays this and a copy of Dark Depths I bought when I first joined MTG in January 2012 for $16 (I adore its original art). MH finally allowed me to get a non-foil version of this token card with good card stock, and its original alluring token art. Props to the original artist for two remarkable pieces and brilliant captures of this ominous villain.
Although I feel like the art for this card is a bit too literal (the original depiction, from a distance with the icy haze, piercing eyes, etc. was more appropriate) I do admire the colors used here. My only complaint is the lack of octopus-like tentacles, which were featured in the original art. The attempt here appears to be making Marit Lage's appendages look more sinew and Eldrazi-like, instead of resembling a kraken. Intentional?
I just adore Marit Lage. I hope she is not an Eldrazi titan, and that she isn't mistreated like Legendary Creature characters always are in the lore in favor of making Planeswalkers look OP for marketing. A group of teenagers taking down two titans older than worlds was insulting enough. Whenever we finally see Marit Lage again, I hope she is in Emrakul's league - impossible to take down, like a force of nature or physics that simply cannot be unwritten, but can only be avoided and at best, sealed.

Garruk no longer hunts planeswalkers, he'll kill them if they get in his way, but after the Garruk focused campagin on Magic Duels 2015, he stopped actively hunting planeswalkers.
Marit Lage still exists in modern magic, but where she is currently at is unknown. She woke up at the end of Coldsnap and wandered off.
Marit Lage never planeswalked, she is not a planeswalker, she does not have a spark. She is however quite able to traverse the multiverse by other means.

Fear not, Marit Lage is not an Eldrazi Titan, she is a black mana aligned eldritch horror of immense power that would probably kill Emrakul if they met (being a 20/20 indestructible creature and all). She is MTG's original Mythos expy, and we will probably see her again some day. We have been told that She is not an Eldrazi, several times, so until WotC changes their minds about her, we should treat her as if she is not.
Also, totally building a snow-based commander deck with this card in it.

I do wonder if she is truly a human sorceress, and the kraken-like figure is merely her destructive avatar, and how she chooses to be perceived. Honestly, it's pointless even making conjectures about her at this point, but I do hope she is portrayed properly. She should be more powerful than even Emrakul or any other villain, really. Planeswalkers need to face beings greater than themselves that have no solution. Otherwise, they're greater than the universe they inhabit, and so what's the point of telling any stories about them? Traveling to different planes should be a learning and growing experience for them, NOT an opportunity to be OP just for having a spark that we're constantly told strictly allows for travel.
But since she's sealed in ice, not killed, especially in an age where any Planeswalker(s) that opposed and sealed her were in fact Oldwalkers, something tells me she will indeed be no pushover. I agree she is the original Eldritch entity and true cosmic horror villain. I can't wait to see this character again. I hope she is utterly catastrophic.

No, she is quite literally an eldritch horror on par with the Great Old Ones of the Cthulhu Mythos. Making her a humanoid that hides behind an illusion devalues her character. She is literally a creature that the oldwalkers feared because they couldn't control or kill her, the best they could hope for was imprisonment for a time (like what happened during Ice Age). Also, she is no longer sealed in Ice... The glacier she was frozen in has thawed. She left Dominaria at the end of Coldsnap, and her current whereabouts is unknown.
Personally, I am quite happy we got a card referencing her in Modern Horizons, it means that WotC haven't forgotten about her, and there is a decent chance that she will show up again in the future.

I think you're right, she should remain a kraken-like monstrosity. It is more appropriate to the mythos.
