If I wanted to allow myself to discard, I would never play it without Overload, at which point it's way overcosted. Otherwise, it's a Mind Rot.
Way overcosted? It costs 2 to make everyone discard 2 (you know that's an alternate and not an additional, right?). The incumbent for that style of effect is Delerium Skeins, which is 3 for 3.
But the reality here is, outside of self-discard decks (where you would likely run something like Collective Brutality instead), it is Mind Rot, with a 1-mana hellbent discount. That's something to keep in mind on this - the cards it makes you discard don't hurt if you don't have any!
Incidentally, this is the first overload spell that the overload mode costs less than the normal mode. In fact someone's gonna have to update the wiki. https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Overload says "Overload provides an alternate and more expensive mana cost" - uh, not anymore.
Holy hell. With this, Ephemerate and Soulherder, modern blink is going to have some real good card advantage going for it at the very least. You get your choice of one of four cards with each blink, going to draw you into your good stuff real quick and help you stay on curve.
Hideaway on a creature is very nice, but it really highlights the "enters tapped" that is baked into hideaway's reminder text. Should've just had the lands enter tapped back in Lorwyn so we wouldn't have to stumble over it now.
I think I read somewhere that it was a space issue. They couldn't fit the mana ability, the hideaway reminder text, the conditional cast ability, and the "enters tapped" ability all on the card, so they made the "enters tapped" text part of the hideaway reminder text to save themselves a line break. Still unfortunate, though.
Everdream is amazing. First of all that art might be some of my favorite in the game. In EDH specifically this is pure value. You don't really need to be playing a spells deck for this to do work, it essentially gives every spell you cast kicker to cantrip and if you really need to dig it cycles itself for 1U.
You don't know how many times I've looked at Evermind disappointed that it was only splice onto arcane.

Watcher for Tomorrow makes me realize Hideaway would be a good Dimir mechanic. I never thought to use it on a card type other than land. It would feel a little weird on enchantments since it causes the permanent to ETBT, but I could see it on artifacts as well.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
