Between Farmstead Gleaner and Lesser Masticore on the list. I'll go for "Frostskin / Frosthide Golem" or something like that. Frost could be replaced by Frozen/Glacial.
I feel like this card shouldn't be in modern horizons. The set isn't supposed to be about innovation. On the other hand, this is a pretty low hanging fruit.
Dude if we aren't goin to Viking World end of summer with all these powaful snow cards, i . . . It is also rumored/desired we will meet Garruk there !
Anyone a clue when the set after M20 is finally announced ?
So i'm guessing that this can be cast of any snow land. This is a pretty decent snow enabler and a good 1 drop. But...what deck wants this?
a new deck that plays snow permanents ? Or just snow lands...
On the invocation: there can only be like a handful of cards that can enter in the tier decks, if they only focus on those the set would be 40 cards long... Going in different directions and giving support for decks that does not currently exists gives the product much more than just be a set for 30 modern decks and commander stuff. Thats why we got the swords and some of the mythics and rares. Snow is a theme that has cards in modern but small suport mostly because there is only one snow set.

The set is the "Innovation Product" of 2019. Where you got the "The set isn't supposed to be about innovation" thing? ;-)

Modern Horizons is backward-looking. It contains no new keyword mechanics and avoided extremely novel designs.
You could argue that it's not extremely novel, but I dunno. It still feels somewhat out of place. I don't mind it too much, I suppose, it just feels like a bad fit for modern horizons.
God damn it, when are they going to hire competent Spanish translators? Pellejo? Really? Pellejo is normally used to refer to discarded animal hide, it sounds disgusting, but I'm not surprised, the Spanish translators are usually terrible...Anyway, if Coldhide Golem fits the crunch, that's probably the correct name.
Seems like a sweet draft card, but probably nothing else.
Playing since 1994: Currently MAGS (HomeBrew),Standard & Pauper (Pioneer and Modern are degenerate trash formats)

Margaret Thatcher: “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Benjamin Franklin: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Martin Luther King Jr.: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
Skred might run it or just burn running snow covered mountains . its slower than guide and Taylor but its still a 1 drop 2/2 so still on curve and might be better than the worse burn spell.
Extremely novel is really weird stuff like force of savagery or bridge from below. This is simply a grizzly bear you play in snow decks. It doesn't make you do anything really weird to make it a playable card.

... It's an Innovation Product, because the product itself is something WotC normally doesn't do. (Printing cards directly for Modern.) Not because it contains innovative card designs, which as the link I provided, goes counter to their self-proclaimed goal.
Its not really even that innovative. The reason they didn't do it in Cold snap is because of a standard card that added mana to your mana pool equal to enchanted permanent's mana cost. Snow in the cost wouldn't make snow mana because snow isn't a type of mana like colorless is. It means mana from a snow supertype permanent. Splice onto instant and sorcery is a little innovative as well. This isn't the core set. If you can't figure out snow in the mana cost, the untap symbol, or something like that, modern horizons isn't a set for that person. They're not introducing any brand new keywords or doing anything weird just to be weird like tapping enchantments, special land equipment, cards that do weird un set type things, etc. This and the rock are simply cards you cast for mana like any other card. It has a few abnormal corner cases, but it's otherwise a normal magic card.

Care to explain why not? All they said is that this set will be straight Modern legal, they never said anything about the set being dull.

I wished they did the same treatment for C....
but now that snow is also a casting cost....doesn't mean that is effectively a sixth color of magic in everything now?

I mean, colourless is closer to being a 6th colour, because it's mutually exclusive with coloured mana. Snow mana meanwhile can have a colour.

I hope that C comment was sarcasm, we had an eldrazi archetype that ruined the format for a few months back in 2016...
