These are cool though, it'll be interesting to see how other color combinations start fitting these into their lists.
If you meant enemy colored snow lands that etB tapped, the ally ones were uncommon in Coldsnap, so could be an uncommon cycle here.
If you were talking about Snow-Taiga duals, those are close enough to violating the reserved list that they won't happen, based on WotC's stance on other cards.
... No, they could be any kind of land with two types of mana produced that can enter untapped. Many people are using the term dual to describe these fictional lands because there isn't a real name for them. They could be snow versions of Check lands, Shock lands, Fast lands, etc., or most likely some other interesting version that makes them unique and Snow. Why the jump immediately to alpha duals?
It'll be interesting to see where these settle in price. There are so many factors pointing to these costing more than Horizon Canopy if they see play which is a near lock. Horizon canopy at it's peak was $99. Hopefully the price they carry will murder the price of the rest of the cards in the set but with this being a non-standard product I doubt there will be the demand to make that happen.
In what universe? If you build a deck like that, and ever draw that hand, I will personally come to wherever you live, perform complicated acts of awestruck ********, then disembowel myself to escape the world that allowed something like this to occur and validate you.
Is there precedent for two enemy colored land cycles in one set?
No because that screws with fair colored mana production in draft. This means that their will be some uncommon EBT Allied cycle. Possibly the mirage slow fetch cycle or a full Krosan Verge cycle since neither is currently in modern.

Until you remember they said no card currently legal in modern would be printed in this set. Horizon Canopy is a legal modern card and an ally color land. Stoked to have these lands, but personally wish they were ally colored instead

Come watch me stream over at my twitch channel. I play Loam Pox, Ad Nauseam, and jank in modern on MTGO.

I loved the idea that this cycle was finally getting printed, but I hate that they now have 6/10 color combinations. I mean, as just a Selesnya land Horizon Canopy felt unique and powerful - but just for G/W. I was ok with that. Or... if it was just enemy colors, then I'd be ok with that. Obviously, the full cycle of ten would have been great for everyone, but this enemy-colors plus Selesnya mess seems a bit too unfair to Azorius, Dimir, Gruul, and Rakdos. I really hope they fix this injustice by printing the allied-color ones in Modern Horizons II.

Make Snow Duals Legendary. Then they help both modern and legacy without tanking the prices of the ABUR Duals. Even though you can't have 4 on the board it still helps mana fixing.
Easy peasy.

My guess is that the allied Horizon lands won't be printed during the next rotation year. If we're gonna get them in a Standard-legal set, it will be the fall set of 2020.
Frank Karsten's theory that Standard's manabase should have one cycle of lands for aggro and one cycle of lands for control makes a lot of sense. Currently, we have a cycle for aggro in shocklands (allow turn-1 play), so this likely won't come out until shocklands rotate. If shocklands and horizon lands exist in the same Standard, multi-color aggro can become way too good and too consistent.
I don’t know what to say. Maybe refrain from Standard and/or Modern until every deck on your to-do list is assembled before rejoining competitive play?
IDK, it seems "obvious" the other half of the cycle will be printed in MH2. I guess by doing it this way we get 6/10 now instead of just 5/10 and it serves as a warning shot to those owning horizon canopy that it will not hold it's current price long term as a reprint will be coming in a very few years.
Pretty sure the "obvious" choice for MH2 is going to be a Grove of the Burnwillows cycle, and not a rehash of the same thing MH1 is doing. And even that would be ignoring a dozen other possibilities that all might have credence (imagine an Urborg cycle? )
I wouldn’t hold your breath waiting for Grove of the Burnwillows’ cycle to be finished—
Grove itself has taken on way more of a life than they wanted for it,
and GU/BG versions would boost Infect more than a little.
I’d love to see them, but I’m not very optimistic about the chances.

modern infect still needs a lot of fetches to support become immense, a card i dont ever see the deck moving away from. in-color 'grove lands' wouldnt see any more play than botanical sanctum.

EDIT:
Grove of the Willowburns is absolutely broken in control. As much as a "simple" dual land can be, that is. There's a reason it was printed in RG.

His point is they aren't worth that much. I agree... and neither is Horizon Canopy. I'm kind of sick of how every card that is remotely playable jumps in price every set that comes out that doesn't reprint said card. Gets old. Now these are just trying to ride coat tails. Would be like if they made 5 Manamorphose in different color pairs and then they presold for $8 each.

That’s a very tough sentence to read. Nearly incomprehensible.
Has anyone come up with a nickname or moniker for this cycle of lands yet? We have shocklands, fetchlands, checklands, fastlands, so I'm suggesting "canlands" because they were obviously inspired by Horizon CANopy and can be cashed in to draw a card, like a CANtrip. When you start adding more and more syllables to the nickname, it gets harder and harder to pronounce and understand in normal conversation.

That’s means ally only has 1 of them make the other 4 as well
I’m still hemming and hawing over whether to run the Shocklands/Fetchlands or these Horizon Lands for my fun little casual Modern deck.
Makes total sense now.
