When talking about Morophon being a chase card in this set, are we ignoring that cards like this (high cmc creatures that rely heavily on the deck to be worth anything and compete with proven staples that aren't expensive) are never worth much or that there are tons of other cards that will see play in multiple formats in the set? This is a mildly popular Commander card for a little while and for that it's a $3.50-$5 card... hardly chase.

Since Modern Horizons has a finite print run, he will most likely be more expensive than that, especially after the print run ends. Probably no more than 10 bucks however.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
For those of you who asked, yes, Morophon makes creatures of the chosen type cost a big fat 0 if you use Jodah, Archmage Eternal or Fist of Suns.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
So, play Morophon, choose Elemental, drop Horde of Notions, and laugh.
That doesn't work though. Horde of Notions has an activated ability. Morophon doesn't reduce that. ~edit: Of course Horde itself comes down for free... D'oh.
Slivers definitely is the one the can most abuse it. Sliver Overlord as a general can even search for it, and you should be able to setup a fairly quick win from there if not answered.
Then I actually think it's Wizards next. Dragons are numerous, but there are actually more multicolor Wizards and they are lower on the colorless portion as well, meaning that you are better suited for casting multiple creatures a turn.

print to demand doesnt mean infinite supply. the print run is going to end at some point, and cards exclusive to the set and the sealed product itself will increase in price. just look at those examples you were so quick to reference, conspiracy and battlebond. both of which are out of print and include plenty of cards that are going nowhere but up.

I’m not saying it’s a infinite print run
I’m saying its not gonna be a low print run like master sets
Five Color Elves in a deck with a Mono-Green manabase and it just works.
How does this work? You either pay their printed cost, or WUBRG. Both of which require something >Mono-G base?
"Spells of the chosen type you cast cost WUBRGless to cast."
So if you got a Llanowar Elves, which costs G, and it costs WUBRG less to cast, that means it cost 0.
This is basically a mega version of Edgewalker but for any tribe of any color.
Well, I’ve read that wrong about a dozen times now then. Peeps keep saying Fist of Suns and for some reason I kept thinking that was Morphons ability. Even though I know it’s not...
Still, risky business banking on a 7cmc enabler to play anything Gx with just Forests.
I prefer to think it allows budget-bases to work more smoothly for 5c. Which is good for EDH players in general.

Its probably going to result in some combo deck with things like Glimpse of Nature.

Sadly, he can’t go in the 99 unless you’re already playing a five color commander.
But he can easily be the commander for any tribe, even if you don’t plan to play all five colors.
WUBRGPauper Battle BoxWUBRG ... and why I am not a fan of Wayne Reynolds' Illustrations.

Cavern Harpy/Horned Kavu/Shrieking Drake + Morophon, the Boundless + ETB effect (say Bontu's Monument)
Hibernation Sliver can also be used this way, but you'd need more than Bontu's Monument, unless you have more life of opponents.
Let's not forget our little friends the Elves, turning one mana dorks into free spells. I'm sure there is a Glimpse of Nature, Beast Whisperer, Guardian Project, pretty happy to accommodate Morophon, the Boundless.
Niv-Mizzet Reborn
Feather, the Redeemed
Estrid, the Masked
Teshar
Tymna/Ravos
Najeela, Blade-Blossom
Firesong & Sunspeaker
Zur the Enchanter
Lazav, the Multifarious
