This does not change monocolour decks, since fetches can also get you the one basic you need
This is much worse in two colour decks since it can't get shocks.
This is an EDH-only card, but it will be highly played in EDH.
The only modern deck that would play it would be 2-colour blood moon builds. You want fetches that can get both of your basic lands. So if you have that RW prison deck, you would play 4 Arid Mesa and 4 of this, and it would be better than any other fetches.

A lot of people like to deny that other players actually consider budget in their deckbuilding, but they do. People who were inclined to play fetches as simple basic forest fetchers ... will be happy if they can get a playset of this for the cost of a single wooded foothills.
I'm really disappointed by this stupid cash grab, this card should have been an uncommon especially considering it's meant for budget players who won't break the bank buying actual fetches, but hey, now everybody who doesn't own a lot of fetches is going to chase after this card to plug missing fetch slots. I guess we can count on a cycle of common/uncommon mana fixing in the set.
Except that this will never reach the actual fetch lands prices
That's some consolation right there, considering Scalding Tarnis pushing 100 bucks...personally, I would have liked an uncommon fetch cycle, kinda like:
Affordable Tarn:
Pay 1 life, sac: fetch a basic Island or Mountain.
Established players will stick to their fetches, and people getting into Modern (which is the supposed aim of the set) will rush to get as many of these as they can and start brewing half-decent decks at least.
why would you ever need a cycle when this card does everything you need, the only reason you put the search for mountain, island is to fetch non basic lands. Prismatic Vista does what you are looking for minus making an entire cycle. If they wanted a budget fetch they would print the mirage fetches.
This thread is full of idiots... Lightning Bolt is NOT being reprinted.
Many times has a writer in Wizards said so, because of the plain and simple fact that it's too powerful for what it costs. x/3 creatures shouldn't be able to die at instant speed for one mana without a signifigant drawback. (like PTE giving you a land)
I absolutely guarantee that LB will not be printed in M10, and you can quote me on that.

A, he was requesting an uncommon cycle ... budgetary and draft reasons can explain why an uncommon fixer cycle is useful. And B, even if this is strictly better than that, the fact is one could only have four of these in any single deck. If there was a cycle of ten dual-versions, then one deck could have 3 playsets of fixers and not be limited to the one playset of this.
The recurring theme seems to be players who refuse to recognize that some players are budget conscious. Some players don’t have the full 40 fetches and only care about things they can add to that. Some don’t have the full 40 and are looking for useful affordable substitutes.
i feel like this should've been an uncommon since teramorphic is a common, and fetchlands are rare...
this thing will be a staple in almost every budget/edh deck from this point forward. its not really fair that it was printed in this set that fetches a premium price because it artificially drives up price and scarcity.
Wizards of the Coast is straight-up awful for printing this at rare. It's a "budget" fetchland...except it's a rare. Currently pre-selling for about $25, one of the most expensive in the set.
I'd rather they just didn't print this card, than making it a rare. In protest, I'll be proxying this card in all my commander decks unless it drops to $5. (Which it actually might, because I'm pretty sure it is unplayable in modern except as a pure budget option.)
I know this is a slight necro...but I have played a 2-color deck recently with these and I didn't have a problem getting the mana when I needed it. I have some true fetches, but I decided to play with Prismatic Vista in the current decks I'm building and works well. You may have to be creative in any duals like using painlands or checklands to round out the base. It is a callback to the Mirage cycle slow-fetch in my eyes (which I was hoping for a reprint) and making it in a single card for basics. I suspect this will be reprinted a lot since it only fetches basics and could be standard playable that won't cause too much shuffling. It's a nice gateway to real fetches if people want to up their Modern game competitively.
after about a month, this "fetchland" is still one of the most expensive cards in the set. Should have been printed at uncommon.
Absolutely infuriating. Thankfully, no one I play EDH with cares if people use proxies (within reason). I will probably never play with a real copy of this card.
I could be wrong but the real fetchlands, even the now super expensive scalding tarn started out being 10 dollars each during their first release. Prismatic Vista started at 20 something and never went down, so there's really no chance to get it for cheap.
Yeah it's surprising in a direct-to-Modern set that it started off as a >$20 rare. Depending on how it's played in Modern tournaments will dictate if it could be rolled out to a Standard set? However, I think what we have discussed before is that this is a cheaper alternative to the Fetch->Shockland mana base. On complete unfounded dysphoric speculation (that we don't need to discuss further), what if they banned all the real fetchlands in Modern to leave them in Legacy? That would make both formats more distinct in explosiveness and could move some players to Legacy. I highly doubt they would because the outcry would be ridiculous and so many decks would lose a consistent mana base in Modern. If that happened, then Prismatic Vista would spike as the best option for mana bases in mono and 2-color while not as good for 3+. IT would be a huge shake-up for Modern if WotC did that.
Overall I like Prismatic Vista as it is since I play more mono or 2-color decks, and don't really need Fetch-Shocklands.
Hopefully, get's rolled out to a standard set someday to decrease the price. Right now, it costs just as much as a foothills or a strand.. and actually costs more than a heath. Prismatic Vista has a disadvantage of not being able to fetch shocks.. however, it also has the advantage of being able to get any color because it can fetch all basics.
Yeah, got into an argument with a good friend that this would hit close to 40, didn't believe me.
I have 0 right now, will need to get some backs asap while they aren't crazy expensive.
Great design, flawed distribution at rare.

Budget card they said. 30 euros now. Do you think price for it will still go up?
Yes. Once MH1 dries up (by December, I believe) all the lands will start to rise in value. I think the cap for this one is around 50$. I would also expect that almost every single card will start to rise once in 2020. MH1 has such a massive impact on eternal formats it's really not smart to underestimate it.
