Well, now that's a great news for me. MaRo says that the new cards are over 80% while reprints around 15%. So, since this set have 254 cards, that means that the reprints are no more than 40 cards basically, while the rest is all new. That's a pretty crazy percentage of new stuff for a supplemental set actually and explains also why this time they didn't choose to separate new cards from reprints in the number crunch list (since they are almost all new cards).
The new Slide has shown us that those hoping for more reprints could still end up satisfied with the new cards as well.
Well, as a Commander player, I'm super happy of this news. More functional reprints (hopefully in better) of great cards are always welcome in a singleton format.
Oh man, the new Limited jank with Changeling/Convoke/Kicker/Cycling/etc. we could be getting this set. I estimate that most of these new cards would be unplayably bad in Standard if they were legal there.
That could mean about 50 good new cards for Modern, though!
Over 80%, eh? That's over 204 cards in the set. Which means about 50 cards are going to be reprints. And I would guess most of them are rares, maybe some upshifted to mythic.

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.

nopes 37 or 38 cards are reprints thats about 15% of 254

Not every card is good for every format, not even in a dedicated set for modern (but not only modern). For now I see stuff that can easily see play in pauper or peasant cubes, and that's already a good thing since we're talking about commons, not the real stuff. In the worse, the cards are fun, flexible and versatile to play if you wanna draft them, which is how is what designed this set in the first placed, to be drafted, like in almost all sets.
Save your complainings when you gonna see eventual crap also at the rare and mythic level.
This is pretty fine. They can reprint a bunch of casual or Commander-focused cards, give Modern players some meat with stuff like Lava Dart and so on and still have room for brewers.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
Somehow this news has me a little less excited. This may seem contrarian, but thought the spicier side of this whole thing would be the reprints they chose for Modern inclusion. Oh well. Still seems like a rad set either way.

If that is the case, I'm excited for the 5% not covered by either.
i say there are just pseudo new cards
seems like we just altered or "modernized" versions of old cards
i mean the new hermit is basically not that new, they just replaced the echo by vanishing... wow, i am deeply exited by all this creativity.

Because the new ones are alternate/repaired/different type of a powerful card
Like cabal theorpist with cabal theorpy or deep forest hermit with deranged hermit
My 720 Peasant Cube
