I guess somewhere in the back of my mind I'll keep hoping for a second print run, given how much of a mess this was.
wizards painted themselves into a corner by explicitly stating a limit with a firm assurance that no more would be printed. had they not it doesnt seem farfetched that they might have printed a few thousand more (like 3k or something), while still maintaining the spirit of 'limited print run'.
then again i have little to no knowledge of how production happens, given the timeline of the release of sets/products relative to how far in advance design/dev is it stands to reason they cant just fire up a printer willy nilly and produce whatever they want; so who knows.
For those getting shipping notice today, what part of the country are you located? And do you know approx how many were listed sold when you purchased?
Got my order confirm message days ago, but still waiting on shipping notification.
from the reddit posts ive been checking regularly to see if anything new has been happening people are claiming no tracking from areas all over the US, some canada, some EU or asia. definitely not enough info to discern any sort of pattern (like people theorizing 2 box orders were going to be shipped last).
I can confirm that the last bit is false. My friend had his two box order shipped yesterday. My two boxes have not been shipped.
Finally found my order in my Cancelled orders, with the message "Your payment didn't go through, so the order was cancelled. Please pay for this item again." I am not sure why it would not have gone through. I never got this message before in dozens of Ebay transactions.
It is unfortunate, I guess I am not getting anything.
Yes. Or at least the refund shows as pending on PayPal. For the full amount too, including taxes.
I got the eBay message about canceling my order and I agreed to it. Probably should have waited but I just want to wash my hands of this mess. Eff WotC for all this. I collect planeswalkers and alt-art planeswalkers but I’m seriously considering stopping. I don’t really care if they’re limited or uber expensive, I just like them. But between only getting 1 of 3 mythic editions and the SDCC promos being obscenely expensive if you can’t go (which is most of us), they’re going way too far and I’m seriously considering if I want to just cut my losses. Maro talked recently about the “fun” of collecting. Yeah, this isn’t fun. This is throwing my money into a hole several times a year but most of the time it doesn’t even make the hole.
Finally got my shipping confirmation today. It was a double box order put in around 3:01 with 1000 units sold, paid with PayPal connected directly to eBay (didn’t need to redirect to PayPal website) using a credit card.
Just got the tracking for my two boxes, scheduled for next Tuesday. Paid with PayPal, wasn't able to track how many sold prior because I had to enter my account info before checking out.
Honestly the late shipping is no surprise but I'm just glad I have shipping confirmation.
That was a common scenario with the first wave of cancellations that happened in the middle of the product being sold
Finally got my refund today. And an email from Ebay asking for my consent to cancel my order. What happens if I decline that?
And interestingly, there's actually a class action lawsuit against ebay/hasbro/wizards for those who ordered, got confirmed, then got canceled. Not sure I really agree with that, but might as well add my name in the event they win, and get a check for 75 cents.
I can confirm they are still shipping these. Just got my confirmation.
2 Boxes, Texas, last name starts with S. Not sure if there are any other things that can be clues to how they are shipping.

getting towards the end of the day, no shipping update for me. maybe tomorrow. maybe never
Same boat here. There's a phone number in the confirmation message; might give that a call: 866-540-3229
I gave that number a call earlier today. Talked to a rep. (Brittany) if that matters, who said I could file for 'failure to deliver item' if I don't receive anything today, but I could only do this after the 5/8 date has passed. I'll be given the option to request a refund or continue requesting the item. If I continue to request the item then eBay will send something to Hasbro. That's about where the conversation ended.
For the record, I had my first order canceled due to a sales tax issue and my second order went through...received both the ebay confirmation in my email address and the message eBay sent out the following day to people who were actually confirmed (that whole "not as happy as you" message). Still, it worries me that even people who received that message are getting requests by eBay to have their orders cancelled.

i wouldnt bother tbh. that phone number is ebay's (im pretty sure), and as far as shipping fulfillment goes they arent even involved. hasbro is closed for calls till tomorrow.
so you gotta contact hasbro, and they are unwilling to say or do anything more than check you are one of the lucky members of the 'congrats' club, and that everyone in said club should be getting their orders shipped as soon as possible.
that tracking update is all that matters, so all we can do is wait for the labels to be created and added at this glacial pace.

There's still hope for me yet! (Still on the waiting game).
I'll probably give them until Friday before I open a claim. Claims are usually an easy way for sellers to just say "sure, refund, now go away" when I would much rather have my two boxes that were confirmed.
I hate to be that guy, but this is why you should never buy direct from Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro and support your LGS or buy from people online who carry singles that your LGS doesn't carry as long as you know you're getting the best deal out of it. Now don't get the wrong idea, I still trust the company when it comes to designing new Magic products while continuing to stay true to the game's tradition over the last 25 years. If they haven't gotten themselves involved with e-commerce then this class action lawsuit never would've happened, I pretty much guarantee it.
What I'm concerned about is whether If the sole purpose of Mythic Edition Masterpiece cards is really just to purposefully expose themselves manipulating the Secondary Market as a way for Hasbro to cut ties with Wizards of the Coast. I don't know why they would when War of the Spark has been a major success, not to mention the impact it's had on MTG Arena where they seem to be finally learning from the Pokémon TCG with how the Online Card Game is properly operated. Personally they should just do away with Mythic Edition altogether while sticking with regular Standard legal sets.

Concluding that the Mythic Edition experiment was an unmitigated disaster is one thing, but saying that WoTC shouldn't have even attempted direct sales (as evidenced by the "If they haven't...never would have happened" bit) is hindsight bias. The company had direct sales to stores for years before the model shifted to being based around 3rd-party distributors. Also, unless you have concrete evidence, stop the talk about this whole thing being a ruse for Hasbro to, uh, ditch a profitable IP. All of the unfounded rumors flying around definitely worsened this situation.
So I just got an email that the consolation prize is an "uncut foil sheet of mythic and rare cards". Does anyone know how valuable that sort of thing tends to be? Could I just, like, get the sheet cut and use/sell/trade the cards? Anybody want to trade me their second Mythic Edition box for it? : p

How is it hindsight bias that Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro shouldn't have attempted direct sales when they're the ones who should be supporting the LGS in the first place? Sure the LGS made terrible mistakes in the past especially when it came to promo reselling but that shouldn't stop Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro from being able to distribute Magic products at their location when they need the overhead to stay in business to provide a place for people to play Magic. As for the unfounded rumors, I don't have any concrete evidence on this whole fiasco being a ruse for Hasbro so I'll just leave it at that. I apologize.
But If you stop to think about it Trading Card Games / Collectible Card Games are really just a hobby that hasn't been regulated by the U.S. Government. There was an LGS that refused to buy card singles being as it's the best way for them to turn a profit. They went on this big rant referring to some pawn shop laws where you have to give them a time period of when you can purchase a specific good. You can't put it back on sale until it goes through a process, there's taxes that are involved, fees, basically following the law to a tee where it becomes an absolute headache to buy and sell Magic.
The more that this is going to be looked at as a commodity, the more the U.S. Government is going to put more of their filthy hands into the mix as it will be the undoing of the hobby itself. You really got to blame Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro for doing these stupid Mythic Edition boxes to begin with when it was all just a race for a product they could invest in. The vast majority of people were only buying these Mythic Edition products just to flip and sell them on the Secondary Market. That's a horrible way to get product out for people to enjoy it.
It's scary territory we're getting into when you have Revised ABU Dual Lands approaching $1,000. The power creep continues to go up, the Reserve List continues to go up in value. These are the unfortunate consequences of when a hobby becomes too mainstream as the U.S. Government gets involved in the trading of this newfound hobby commodity. Magic seems like it's starting to become too much of a headache for how much you actually get out of it, making it harder for an LGS owner to turn a profit while struggling to pay for expenses.
