Rest in Peace is *not* Standard legal (this was an error in the article).
Doublestrike does *not* let you attack twice (another error in the article).
Overall, it looks pretty sweet. I will definitely pick up the Gideon because I like the frame and will likely pick up Rest in Peace as well. Path to Exile is also a welcome inclusion as that card can always use more printings.
Holy *****! I'm almost tempted to call it fake, because it beats the living hell out of Jace's spellbook. I also find it weird that they kept the original art for Gideon Jura since he was retconned to a Greek beefcake.
EDIT! RICHARD KANE FERGUSON!!!!!!! WotC needs to have him illustrate a ton more cards. Like, right now. Call him, Wizards. Call him.

I do not want to be ignorant, but what other art is RKF iconic for? I have never seen any of his drawings.
RKF was around for much of Magic's early history (Legends through Shadowmoor, I think) but is best known for illustrating the original Dakkon Blackblade. He also did art for a promo version of Korlash, Heir to Blackblade from Future Sight, so this completes the cycle.

That's pretty cool.

"The essence of every world, every spell and every thought is power. Nothing else matters, because nothing else exists."
Weird that they picked the objectively worst Gideon for the spellbook. I guess because it's his original card, with his full (post-Bant) name? Is Signature Spellbook: Nissa going to be Elf-tribal?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Lots of good, solid reprints here in addition to the art and story beats. Worship and Martyr's Bond are in the ~$8 range at the time of announcement, while Path to Exile and Rest in Piece are in the $9-11 range. Blackblade Reforged is an in-print rare that isn't seeing much play, and the rest are worth a couple of bucks apiece. At announcement, the combined value of this product is around $45, and the ensuing price drops will hit a few Modern staples, to boot.
This, this I may buy. I do wish we had gotten Gideon of the Trials or Gideon Blackblade or Gideon, Ally of Zendikar but it makes sense to get the most foundational version of him. Path, Martyr's Bond, Blackblade, and Worship are cards I'd love to own or own more of and I dig the new art. And I've never been a huge fan of Gideon (he's like maybe in my top 20 favorite 'walkers) but I found myself a bit heartbroken on that Rest in Peace art. RIP Kytheon Iora of Theros.

My 720 Peasant Cube
My favourite Magic artist ever - I thought they’d never give him another commission.

Most iconic for his signature on a lot of cards. The art is also incredible throughout
Jokes aside, good variety of cards that serves multiple formats... Juicy Path to Exile
