The Pegasus died a hero just like Gideon.. the unexpected help from Rakdos - good thing Oketra did not shoot him as well.. err.. I guess he has enough toughness to resist 4 damage. ;p
So Rakdos acts as a ‚Deus Demon Ex Machina‘. How does this make sense?
Why does the immortal founder of a 10,000 year old organization he formed, who is experiencing his home being invaded by a force trying to tear it down, and directly threatening the very existence of his Cult--without giving the power to him, Rakdos, personally--temporarily ally with someone who is aligned with his current goals of crushing the invading army of lazotep-covered undead and its draconic leader?
So the poor Rakdos just act as a glorified mount?
He could have killed a god eternal alone

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

Rakdos likes the status quo of Ravnica, he is one of the original Paruns. Bolas disrupts the status quo, therefore it is in Rakdos's best interest to help the heroes. Perfectly in character for someone who is selfish (black) and values freedom (red).

It's about time for the reserved list to die, for the sake of Vintage and Legacy (And Commander).
Men, the whole thing about what will happen with that strike of the black blade still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Soo much "muahaha i m a mastermind and predict every out come and make you fall for my fail safes muahaha" imo it would feel soo much more satisfying if he just had alot of aven eternals or minions to stop such type of attacks :\

Excellently said. That was my reasoning for the Rakdos not joining Bolas all the time, it is nice to see the parun himself basically embody the philosophy in a crucial (kinda) moment.

WotC needs to keep up this way of storytelling. The fact you could reasonably infer the plot along with many details just from the cards, without any other lore sources, is amazing and something that needs to stay.
I imagine Rakdos would be fighting agaisnt one of the God Eternals
I hope they show that in a card.
Rakdos is powerful enough to defeat a nephilim in a previous set. For sure, he's strong enough to take on the zombie gods. Problem is if the god eternals would have a similar ability to The Scorpion God, which is auto-revive when killed.
Twas not a black blade but a brother blade. Bolas, the all mighty dragon God could not sense or feel his all mighty powerful brother though because that would be detrimental to the story.
I've never seen such a action packed building up end in such a lackluster puddle of mush. Sigh.
In short:
Yes, Oketra was aiming at Gideon.
Yes, it is friggin' RAKDOS who gave him a ride.
Followed by Desperate Lunge/Gideon Blackblade and Tyrant's Scorn.

Pascite draconem, evolvite aut morimini.
Yes, he could probably kill the god eternal 1 vs 1.
But Rakdos cannot kill Bolas, so he need to help Gideon who has a batter chance of killing the dragon god.

Ye but there was not that many slots.
At least he got one in allegiance as the show topper.
(U/B)(U/B)(U/B) JUMP IN THE LINE, ROCK YOUR BODY IN TIME
(R/W)(R/W)(R/W) RISING FROM THE NEON GLOOM, SHINING LIKE A CRAZY MOON
(U/R)(R/G)(G/U) STEALIN' WHEN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUYIN'
No space left, sadly some guilds don't get legendary creatures in this set.
Makes me even more sad he gets ****ed up by Bolas
I hope they show that in a card.
