No, she forcely become one of the "good guys", because again, of bad writing. She didn't start as a good guy at all.
She joined the gatewatch exclusively because it was convenient for her personal agenda of getting rid of the demons, she never gave a ***** about the multiverse fate at all. (You can see in her Oath of Liliana card how much she cares about that)
She never been inherently evil, but she absolutely was the quintessence of selfishness incarnate. She wouldn't give a **** of everything and anything after becoming a Planeswalker (which was having the power and immortality of an oldwalker at that time)
The family who got killed in the trailer looked like her and her brother when they were younger and made her decide that living wasn't worth the damage she was causing.
I will never believe that a woman that literally made a deal with the Devil (Bolas and 4 demons exactly) to be immortal, because has a freaking terror and complex of death, would just throw away what she fought for her entire life...which is, exactly her life in this case.
The real Liliana I always knew would had wait to find a way to escape without exposing herself this way.
She acted based on emotional and morale impulse sacrifing herself like any random monowhite character
Maybe the only one person she really cared in the whole life except herself is her brother, true. I could see Liliana risking or even sacrificing her life for him, if that could reverse tha spell that corrupted him.
But Liliana completely losing her marbles just because of a random family that bites it because is in the middle of the casualty of a war? Are we really talking of the same Liliana that saw thousands of death and never gave a ***** of anybody? No, dude, this is all bull-***** to me.
A character making decisions you wouldn't have expected them to make at an earlier point is exactly what indicates character development. I will admit, it is often difficult to see, since the story is mostly a marketing tool, but it's there. We can infer from the last part of her Origins story that no matter which atrocities she committed she always found solace in the fact htat she wasn't the most evil being out there.
Quote from from=LILIANA"S ORIGIN: THE FOURTH PACT »
What was left that separated her from the wickedest villains in the Multiverse?
Just this moment, she thought, this one instant of hesitation.
That was always her excuse and working for Bolas has finally forced her to confront the fact that this is no longer true. Therefore, it makes sense, for me at least, that she would act the way she has in the story.
And that's probably why the last two sentences are in the order they are. If they were in the reverse order (return the things then spell deals damage), if one of the targets was The Wanderer this wouldn't hurt at all.
Oh, that's just ADORABLE. Same goes for the new Pariah instant (Still can't believe that's a common).
I was thinking the same thing, gideon’s sacrifice lets you ignore the damage for an additional W. Also works well with Gideon Blackblade if you have it on the battlefield because the damage gideon’s sacrifice redirects to him will then be prevented (assuming it’s your turn).
Damn, it hits Planeswalkers as well, so crazy. Will want some of these for EDH and Arena, I imagine.

The "Crazy One", playing casual magic and occasionally dipping his toes into regular play since 1994.
Currently focusing on Pre-Modern (Mono-Black Discard Control) and Modern (Azorious Control, Temur Rhinos).
Find me at the Wizard's Tower in Ottawa every second Saturday afternoons.
It makes sense to me for Liliana to turn on Bolas in this situation. We know that the most important character trait for her is her obsession with achieving freedom. We saw her go on a multiverse tour and do all sorts of evil stuff for that.
Now, Bolas's control over her and his forcing her to wreak havoc in Ravnica make her realize that there will never be freedom for her as long as Bolas is still around, and that she might as well fight him and get her final moment of freedom rather than submit to him forever.
Would Circle of Protection: Black be able to negate the damage from this card?
Sidenote - if the aforementioned card is not able to negate the damage, are there any that can?
Am i the only one unimpressed by this card?
Reanimating more than 2 creatures with this looks like a suicide. Reanimating 2 or less looks like a waste 6 mana.

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.

yes it can, but you need to make it once it is on the stack before resolution, don’t miss the timing

It is more about the possibilities, unlike this most of other good similar reanimation spells makes you lose life, dealing damage is a draw back that can be used for your advantage.
For exemple, if you have Personal Sanctuary out then this card has no drawback
Revive Torgaar, Famine Incarnate and fix your life to half the start. If you're at 20 life with no fear of burn damage, grab up to 19 CMC of targets and have 10 life left after that. Torgaar for 8 and two Vampire Sovereign for 10. Then the opponent can lose 6 life and you end with 16 life.
I like this because it is another new card that interacts with the gy (planar celebration) which adds a new vein of design for pw decks in that they can focus around gy synergies. Before it was just primeval a glorious rebirth but now we have this too and this can bring back Deepglow Skate for a late game ultimate with just one card.
Or maybe some people will just play this in their pw deck and that is that.

In EDH is worth the risk. You have lot of lifes to invest for sources from all graveyards at your choice. Also, being able to resurrect also PWs I can assure you is no joke. I saw people conceding only because saw enough PWs in my board at the same time. Six mana is an absolutely fair cost imho.
