Not a fan of the Skulker, but Ashiok is solid for an uncommon. The one thing watching this spoiler season so far was seeing if the uncommon walkers were going to be a sad disappointment, but they are fairly decent across the board minus a few (looking at you, Arlinn).
Oh my stars, I love this Ashiok! Repeatable graveyard hate and a static that comes down early enough to still disrupt searches. Plus, Ashiok's art is amazing, and you can see that they are in the Meditation Realm.
Well that cc seems fine for a sorcery that exiles all other graveyards. The fact that they do much more than that.. seems fairly pushed for an uncommon. Their pet seems quite fine for limited with s big butt and built in Mana-sink.
Now that is a fun card, I want one to be in my pool so badly! I also like that this is mill that doesn't further your opponents agenda at all.

hahaha this ashiok is amazing... and he is just uncommon
he instantly made me smile, i think he is super strong, you could fill ur own graveyard while exiling ur opponents...
and his passive, also just targeting ur opponents...muhahaha
this is sooooo good, so strong, so OP, damn i would accept him being a mythic, at least rare and he is just uncommon!
I didn't comment when I made the OP, so I'll comment now - this card is freaking bonkers. This Ashiok is an automatic first pick for me in Limited (mill half your opponent's deck? okay!), and this could see some Modern, Legacy, and Vintage play as a very efficient way of denying your opponents the use of their graveyards and fetchlands. It definitely helps that you can cast them off a single Dark Ritual AND pitch them to Force of Will if you need to.

Lapsed DCI Rules Advisor - Retired from playing but still hanging around
He would not be bad in Commander, what with all the Graveyard shenanigans decks that exist in the format. Stopping your opponents from searching their deck is also powerful. I really like this card.
Having it come down on turn three, ticking it down once and then keeping it on the board for a few turns is killer in EDH. One of the best uncommon walkers.
At 3 CMC it's a bit slow in modern, but not totally irrelevant. That it can repeatedly get rid of GY is so important. This hoses fetches, expedition map, dredge, phoenix. Edit: wrong about path.
The wierd part here is that it hoses what you want the opponent doing. You want them to have cards in their yard for Crypt Incursion, Visions of Beyond, and Surgical. You want them searching for Archive Trap. This new walker is really good, but it redefines the archetype significantly if it is to be played in mill. I feel like it's almost better in a straight up control list as an alternate wincon out of the board, or maybe even mainboard with all these graveyard shenanigans going on.

Oh, I didn't even notice. Interesting. Kinda wondering what role they play in the final act.

Permanent Shadow of Doubt for an opponent?
No graveyard shenanigans with the cards you have milled - no helping opponent?
That is a strong card.
And prevent any abuse of the milled cards by opponent. I remember my solid mill Dimir draft deck crushed to pulp by Izoni in GRN.

Since he is an uncommon, it is not unreasonable to think that you could get 2 of him in your draft deck. Mill is legit!
