And also....I can't take seeing the gods all eternalized (except Bontu) they where so innocent (not Bontu) and honesty I feel worse for them since they where indirectly (not Bontu) leading their people, world and themselves to just be Bolas puppets.
I really hope Samut can bring some sense of vengeance for Amonkhet.
^ This post made me think back to Rhonas's death in Hour of Devastation. I went and posted the story excerpt on the Rhonas thread, but I figure it's more than relevant to share it here as well.
Rhonas wept.
And as he wept, his tears turned from heartbreak to rage, and Rhonas spat the foul name, his dying heart filled with fury and pain.
Nicol Bolas.
As darkness crept in on the edges of his vision and he felt the last ties of his spirit to his physical form disintegrate, Rhonas looked upon the gruesome visage of the (scorpion) god behind him. And though his bodily eyes already filmed over with a milky white, he saw the god's true nature—the tiniest flickers of flame in its heart, surrounded by utter darkness, the original light and soul of his brother buried beneath vile corruption. This god was once one of the original eight, corrupted and repurposed to become a slayer of the very siblings he once held most dear.
"Brother," Rhonas whispered.
Rhonas felt the scorpion's stinger retract, felt his muscles spasm and tense, felt the quickening approach of death. And his heart broke: for his three lost siblings, for the mortals who perished, for those he guided in supplication to a foul falsehood.
And the Strength of the World faded, his immortal light sputtering in the consuming shadows.

"I'd rather die speaking the truth than live a lie." --Gix, to Yawgmoth (pre-Phyrexia)
This turns a basic Divination into obscene amounts of card advantage. Because you are casting with a discount, rather than casting without paying its mana cost, X-cost cards aren't nonbos. Like so many other cards that have been spoiled so far, this has the potential to break Standard (and maybe other formats).
It's one of the best cards in the set, but it does have the upkeep issue where it basically does nothing when it comes into play and only does something good if it survives to the next turn. That's always something to consider when analyzing these cards. However, turn 4 landing a 4/5 flier is pretty nasty without having some kind of answer. A lot of creatures are only 4/4 at best as 4 drops.
yeah its got a weakness in that its 'slow', you can generate obscene advantage over time, but only after untapping, only with topdeck luck or manipulation effects. But that's a weakness mitigated by its low mana cost, and having such a relevantly sized body. Being 4/5 means it dodges a lot of removal like lava coil, shivan fire, etc. And 4/5 flying also means it blocks very effectively against a bunch of threats like phoenix, loxodon, vanguard, marshal, growth-chamber, eetc etc. And the 4/4 amass from enter the god-eternals, if that's relevant. And its god-clause both gives it protection even against the less conditional removal, even exiles like contempt, and also combos nicely with the same topdeck manipulation effects that work with its ability to get it back faster. Being a flying threat makes it well suited to taking down planeswalkers for all the same reasons wizards intentionally printed Tomik as a pushed beater.
so I dunno, maybe if the format is very fast. But even if you cast it turn 4, then turn 5 drew a land- its still a reasonably good threat

4/5 flying blocker isn't the worst on the first turn.
What? Oh god, he has a bident in his picture... Is Kiora dead?
Bidents, fortunately, are an Amonkhet staple. Look at the bidents the eternals carried in the trailers, including the one that stabbed Dack, for example. More important, look at the bident Kefnet the Mindful carries in the art on the Masterpiece Series: Amonkhet Invocations version of the card. Same weapon; bident on one end, blade on the other.
Nah not really, one of the first cards that comes to mind is Isochron Scepter
A card will have you cast a copy of a spell if the card you're copying isn't on the stack, but things like Reverberate that copy stuff on the stack will simply place a copy on the stack without having you cast it.
The problem with defining this format by what is "fun" is that everyone seems to define fun as what they don't lose to. If you keep losing to easily answered cards, that means you should improve your deck. If you don't want to improve your deck, then you should come to peace with the idea that you are going to lose because you chose to not interact with better strategies.

could totally see this in a blue/black deck standard deck
the new 5 mana spell gets so much stronger for just 3, vraskas contempt for 2 mana, insight for 2 mana, 1 mana cast down, even if its just another opt, sounds all good and u will still have another copy on ur hand if needed
This is awesome kefnet trick is giving all instants and sorcery miracle and reduces the cost by 2 and it’s not even the real one you still get to draw the real one
So basically all the instants and sorceries in your library have miracle, but instead of casting the actual card, you're casting a copy so you can basically double up. Needless to say, this is absolutely bonkers.

I like how this is gonna be awesome in the UB amass deck in Limited, with the awesome Amass instants and sorceries. BOMB
Besides that, I really like the recursion effect on this one, because you can easily dig back to it or stall inUB, so it will just keep coming and laying down CardAdvantage (you still draw the card, you cast a copy) and beats (its a 4/5). LOVE IT

The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can tough the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning-less time, darkness thrives in the void but always yields to purifying light.
I invision a future where one is not mighty when he can silence a crowd with brutality,
but when he leaves them speechless with wisdom.

As does Panoptic Mirror, Spellweaver Volute, Mizzix's Mastery, Elite Arcanist, Spellbinder, Eye of the Storm, Arcane Savant, Spelltwine, Reversal of Fortune, Spellweaver Helix, and anything else that creates a copy of a spell that's not on the stack, as mentioned above.
