Monored Sarkhan it is. Tamiyo being GU makes sense when you consider green is a color of lore on Kamigawa.
Given the only other Blue/Green I know of is Kiora (unless Nissa goes back to that long run) we are due for a Simic. Azorius meanwhile has three currently active ones. I’m fine with the colors honestly. She just seems a bit weird mechanically. It’s mostly the +1, not my style. Also seems like a pain in Commander or Arena to make work well.
Pretty good but really looks like a graveyard enabler more than the average blue or green walker to me. Also bares almost no resemblance to Tamiyo 1 in any way.

The Ultimate has the recycling theme. Beyond that she has freezing/drawing, but the Ultimate has the collecting tales theme in Moon Sage. I don’t know that Tamiyo was as well defined then either.
Her static feels like it's too little too late with her cmc. By the time this hits the board the majority of hand disruption is done.
What it does stop is midrange attempting to fire off a duress to scout if the coast is clear. I think Teyo just has the better static for that scenario though.
Her plus can be a significant source of card advantage if she's left unchecked. I'm sure frank Karsten will math it out eventually, but the longer the game goes the stronger it gets because you get more and more information on what's left in your deck and where it is.
Buying back stuff from the yard is great and I think that's what her main purpose will be. She can replace herself at a minimum, especially if someone made you discard a haymaker or hate card they didn't want to see.
Too cute for standard potentially (BUG midrange already has a ton of recursion in elsest reborn, find//finality, etc. and merfolk doesn't really want this). Maybe it will get better post rotation. There are actually quite a few discard themed cards floating for around right now, so many that'll be a deck before long.
Love her art. She looks wonderfully Japanese. Rinko Kikuchi vibes.
I can't tell if she's fighting Kefnet or on his side....
Probably neither. The flavor text on the Epiphany says she was merely observing the war at first. I'm guessing the God-Eternals showing up made her realize she couldn't just keep observing.

Assuming 50 cards in library and the card you name having 4 copies in the library your odds of hitting at least one copy with her +1 is about 30%. Of that 30% the odds of hitting 2 or more of the named card is 3%. Barring some kind of Relentless Rats, Persistent Petitioner decks breaking out a 4 mana walker that draws one third of a card each turn it pretty awful. It's not even in the Dimir colors where you can stack the stop of the deck with Surveil and have all the entering the GY from the deck cards that matter.
Well I was hoping her picture in the Stained glass just looked weird because it was the glass. Hopes dashed.
Not my cup of tea with either the color pairing and abilities or for art collecting purposes. Just a hard pass, crazy to say that for a Tamiyo.

Been a member here for over a dozen years. Playing since '95 just got lost in the twitch shuffle.
Man oh man, do I love this card. To my knowledge, it's the only card in the game so far that outright stops your opponents from making you discard, AND is only one of three cards that prevents forced sacrifice AND IT ONLY COSTS FOUR MANA? No joke, I would honestly play this card if it had no other abilities whatsoever, so the fact that it's also sometimes a card advantage engine in addition to being a potential E-Witness just makes me want to scream!

You could name island or forest. You could name a god card after it goes third from the top, like zombie Kneft or zombie Rhonas. You can play mission briefing with her. You can play her in a BUG(Sultai) deck. You can do her -3. You can play her to shut down Liliana of the veil.
This isn’t the greatest card ever, but it has plenty of utility.

You have to have top deck manipulation to get any benefit from the [+1]. Randomly guessing cards is pretty bad in reality.
Returning a card from graveyard is pretty fine, but assumes a spell already cast that you'd want.
Static ability is very meta dependent.
At the end of the day, these new walkers don't have ultimates, so they don't give you end games to plan for.
She can either be very good, or very bad, depending on your setup or your opponents.
My guess is that she is going to be a bit overrated at first, and then people will settle in to the fact that she is a Regrowth for 2UG most games.
I don't know what's up with you guys saying the art is bad I think it evokes her character really well.
I was a little jarred by the card at first but I'm warming up to her. She isn't cohesive with her first two iterations but I think she could find homes. I think her abilities work well with Muldrotha and Sidisi in EDH.

Embrace the dark you call a home,
Gaze upon an empty, white throne
A legacy of lies,
A familiar disguise
Sing with me a song of conquest and fate
The black pillar cracks beneath its weight
Night breaks through the day, hard as a stone
Lost in thoughts all alone
Actually....... I could see her in a Temur Rec deck.... Gets reclamation back, searches for root snare early, gets nexus late.... ROFL Seems dumb, despite me wanting her for sultai at first glance.

Reusable Wraths, reusable counters, protection from edicts
Also for commander and modern, you can use her with Venser, the Sojourner and Temporal Manipulation or Time Warp

I think she's way too slow for modern. I'd almost always rather have nissa, steward of elements to dig for stuff or nissa, vital force to recur my goodies.
Dunno about EDH 99, not sure the static is strong enough to bother with it.

Many thanks to DNC at Heroes of the Plane Studios
I will never understand why WotC cant stick with an artist to draw the art for specific characters to keep the look at least remotely the same.
This is just breaking immersion and character all the time, completely unnecessary.
