Cast on God-Pharaoh's Statue for...does it count as a flavor bonus if it's the obvious use?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
Black and red have astounding one drops. I feel like this is white’s crazy-good common. Here is hoping green and blue get a choice common too.
I learned a while back that while rates and Mythics may win the game, knowing the commons at a prerelease is the best knowledge you can have.
This card is extremely versatile and I have possibilities for it after drafting.
**** the storyline implications. I want more of THIS in white.
White has all these conditional effects but never any upside. It makes for a piss poor identity and lets face it over the years more and more of that identity has been moved to other colors.
Its time to start giving the conditional effects more upside to their caster too if theyre going to be so limited anyway.
This thing goes in like, every edh deck with white.
All the truly bad stuff happens from this point on.
The Eternal Gods have not yet arrived.
Bolas has not yet cast the Elder Spell.
The spark harvest hasn't even begun.
...Let them have their little celebration.
I´m still waiting for the spark havest. We are in the middle of week 2 of spoilers and I have no idea who´s dying and why
Well, this is still Act 2.
Act 1 had six story cards. We are only three story cards into Act 2. Assuming each act has the same amount of story cards, with eighteen for three acts in all, we are currently exactly halfway through the story spoilers, even though 2/3 of the set as a whole has been spoiled.
Give it time. The true final showdown is coming, probably next week.
I want to see the spotlight where Lilliana comes to her senses and turns on Bolas at that crucial moment. They're most likely saving that for near the last few reveals.

Basically Ravnica is using a spirit bomb and stopping Bolas. I hope it's not as simple as these cards suggest or that's a big let down for story telling.
If you're expecting any kind of depth other than "protagonist vs. antagonist, protagonist wins" in MtG than you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Well, I guess this is the point in the story where it turns for the "good" team. He even seems to be underestimating the strength and resolve it's giving the resistance.
We'll wait and see storywise where this goes but it's a decent limited card at common.

The bulk of the resistance seems to be coming from Boros & Selesnya.

You need to look at the spinoffs, not the main storyline. Children of the Nameless is great.

Yeah, the Boros army is fighting with their army of soldiers and angels. Selesnya with their giant tree.
Although I would add that Izzet seems to be fighting very hard as well, after seeing Ral's cards.

Hour of devastation.
To be fair Hour of Devastation was basically the first half of this storyline where it leads up to Nicol Bolas dying at the end of this one. Common trope that the villain wins at first only to lose in the end.
I hope so too. I'd hate for this to be the end of his story.
I would love to see a blink or Rescue spell showing Fblthp climbing out of the rubble.
Doncha just love cardimg stories?

I saw at least one card where dimir seems to be spying or about to ambush some eternals. Well, fighting in the open has never been their style.. so it's in character for them not to show up in the main fighting in the streets.

a white card that only destroys artifacts. almost feels like a red card... but the cantrip is nice.
