War of the Spark Standard Combo possibility.
Dreadhorde Butcher + The Colossus 1/2 of Collision//Colossus + Thud. Turn 3 21 points of damage?
Can Dreadhorde Butcher accomplish this and how?
Dreadhorde Buthcher says Haste
Whenever Dreadhorde Butcher deals combat damage to a player or planeswalker, put a +1/+1 counter on Dreadhorde Butcher.
When Dreadhorde Butcher dies, it deals damage equal to its power to any target.
The first half is COMBAT DAMAGE the SECOND half is DIRECT DAMAGE can the Colossus and Thud really create 21 of DIRECT DAMAGE without the COMBAT DAMAGE before the COMBAT PHASE?
We know all mythics (well what they are....some yet to be revealed such as rest of Finale cycle and Oketra) and 11 rares are yet to be revealed (yet to see Sarkhan if you include him it’s 12).
Almost there people including Oketra, finale cycle, and Sarkhan we have 17 mythics AND rares left to be revealed.
Not including Sarkhan, finale cycle, and Oketra we got 11 rares left!
So, we'll get up to one Oath in WAR, and if we do, it'll be multicolor, meaning it has to be one of the hybrid or gold PWs. Kaya or Vraska seem most likely.
MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
So, we'll get up to one Oath in WAR, and if we do, it'll be multicolor, meaning it has to be one of the hybrid or gold PWs. Kaya or Vraska seem most likely.
Seeing the flavor text of Tamiyo's Epiphany, I'd find her a possible candidate. One more likely than Vraska anyway...
So if we go by the assumption that each color pair gets a rare in multicolored and use the simic Mythic to replace the rare, we get the following color pairs that need a rare:
B/U
G/B
B/W
That leaves Kaya and Vraska for oaths. I think both have equal chance of getting an oath.
Keep in mind this is PURE speculation. We may not get a balanced color pair for each rare.
Notice how I said 3 rares and we have 4 that are left to be revealed to make 20 rares.
I feel the 4th Rare will be the Elder spell in more than 2
Colors (my guess Bolas colors or 5 colors. If it stays 2 colors it will probably be dimir colors to keep in Bolas colors).
I’m still on the logic ‘if Kaya or Vraska took an Oath, they wouldn’t have been relegated to bit-player-uncommon-walker status’.
Just doesn’t add up to me - rarities were driven by plot prominence so I don’t expect any walker that was put in the uncommon bin has a major plot beat to be revealed.
Really think Sorin more likely. There is as yet no visible reason they made Sorin rare and Nahiri uncommon unless Sorin proves more prominent than meets the eye. It would have been so easy for them to make rare Kaya and uncommon Sorin rather than the reverse, if Kaya has major plot relevance and Sorin does not.
What if wizards decided to be extra thematic and printed the elder spell only at the 'rarity' of a priceless treasure / masterpiece / etc, and it fits into the crunch at a number above 249? IE a double-secret super ultra mythic rare? That would preserve the number crunch normal setup, and explain Maro's evasive answer

I don't think Maro's answer is evasive. Someone asks "Thing X is Y or Z?" and he answers "Yes". He usually misunderstands the nature of the question.
This is an interesting idea, however the Elderspell probably is a rare that interacts with planeswalkers (like Bedevil) and its effect is not splashy enough to be mythic.

I can see the Elderspell being something along the lines of 'Choose target planeswalker you control. Removal all loyalty counters from all other planeswalker and add X loyalty counters to the target planeswalker.' X would either be the total number of counters (which could be too strong) or the number of walkers with counters being removed. This would signify the purpose of the Elderspell and its significance. Possibly mythic, given that it only interacts with walkers and in a new-ish way, but could also be rare.
EDIT:
Turns out I was kinda close, and The Elderspell is a BB Sorcery
Current rare breakdown
5 white
5 blue
5 black
6 Red
5 Green
16 multicolored
3 Lands
0 Artifacts
2 colorless
There are a couple things I’m curious about:
1. We got 6 slots and 4 I’m pretty sure are multicolored. That leaves 2. So are we getting shorted rares in 2 colors if the other 2 are in 2 different colors. Or are the final other 2 rares in artifacts/other land. I’m leaning toward other land/artifacts since the colors already seem semi balanced (as balanced as it can get in my opinion). I can see us getting extra cards in “Bolas colors” though so an extra black and blue card does not seem out of the question.
2. So we are getting a few extra cards in this set (which I added as commons) but I wonder if we are actually getting extra rares. If we get a card in each remaining color as well as the extra 4 multicolored we will be at 55 rares (which is 2 more than usual) which would make sense given we got 2 extra colorless rares. Anybody else thinks this may be the case? I’m marking rares to 55 just yet....I’ll wait to see what the next 2 days bring.
Regarding rares, we're up to 17 multicolor with Soul Diviner (which I think was spoiled after your post?).
Given that white and black each have 3 mythics to the other colors' two, and Roalesk is a stray multicolor mythic, I'd expect that the remaining 5 rares will be:
1 blue
1 green
1 Orzhov
1 Golgari
1 colorless/artifact/land or possibly another rare for black
This leaves each color at 6 rares (except white black, which have an extra mythic each) and each guild with 2 rares (except Simic, which has Roalesk at mythic). This seems like the best way to get each color close to color balance. Given that we already have 3 rare lands, it's likely that the remaining theoretical colorless rare is an artifact, but it also could be the card in slot 003.
Uncommon-wise, with 9 blue uncommons and 2 for some guilds we should expect the remaining 12 to be:
1 white
3 black
1 red
1 green
1 more Azorius, Dimir, Gruul, Orzhov, and Boros uncommon each (5 total)
1 colorless (maybe slot 003?)
This still leaves 1 multicolor slot unaccounted for, though, and we know Bolas and Niv-Mizzet are the only card in the set that are 3+ colors if I recall correctly, so there's imbalance somewhere.
#209 is speculated to be a new Oath card. I presume it would totally makes sense, story-wise, for it to be Oath of Tamiyo. The flavor text for Tamiyo's Epiphany ("Tamiyo wished only to observe the war, but she soon realized neutrality was not an option.") makes me think that she finally joins the Gatewatch, after declining their first proposal on Innistrad.

I mean we still have land #246 yet to be spoiled. I don't think Mishotem was suggesting it start with C or B, but a new land that has that template (mana for certain spell types that makes it uncounterable), but for planeswalker support.

Oh damn, you're right.
And I'd put money down it's just Evolving Wilds. I highly doubt it's a cool land. I mean we already have three rare lands.

I'm kinda hoping it's an artifact of some kind. We don't have a single (colorless) artifact rare in the set thus far.
Narset is the second mono-blue uncommon Planeswalker. It's the only slot that hasn't been filled yet.
