We will definitely be getting some kind of UW deck, since Teferi will be rotating and WotC will want to capitalize on him once last time before he leave standard.
What do you think about Arclight Phoenix getting printed in these?
The likelihood of Pheonix is decent, especially since U/R Drakes is has a pretty good shot being one of the decks. Of course there won't be a full playset, but I wouldn't be surprised by two.
No Teferi is not suprising but I was hoping for a Karn somewhere. No Search for Azcanta is disappointing though.
The decks look playable out the box to me, but the GB deck seems lacking in value a little on first glance.
They could've shoved 2 more Jadelights in there imo. But that's probably why it got that single shock land.
Overall okay.

Well, at least we got an arclight phoenix in the UR deck. It's probably too few to make a real price impact and might simply inflate the deck price instead...
...why do literally all of these decks have fewer rares/mythics than literally all of the challenger decks from last year?
I mean, part of that is the meta but this decks are actively missing rares that the decks want (loxodon, risk factor, contempt, steam vents) instead of including them as a 1-of or 2-of.
Mind you, I understand that wizards did not possess the data to predict what three color decks would break through and didn't know what wild reclamation would do to the meta. I understand wizards not wanting to push a whole bunch of agonizing nexus decks into FNM events everywhere. I understand not wanting to include a third control/midrange deck. Even so, the decks seem... unimpressive.

Yes, they couldn't intirelly predict. But those cards that are missing were easilly predictable and must have in these archtypes.

This isn't even about "predicting". the white deck was based off of a specific deck list (linked to in the wizards article) that HAD the Loxodon (and 30+ rares in the 75). Saying that these were just rough guesses is disengenuous at best.
Instead of giving you the full deck that just wants some additional copies of cards, they are leaving out cards entirely... which kinda defeats the purpose of the product

Yes, im with you in this. These missing cards should have been in these decks
The white deck is an obvious combination of the precon pile you get in Arena and the Tier deck. They just didn't want to give value and that was that.
They didn't build it, they just took the tier deck and stripped it down.
The irony is that compared to the various decks they based it on, the way they stripped the value out is to remove the red/Boros elements (shocks, checks, Aurelia, Heroic Reinforcements, or Lava Coils). They could have stripped the red out if they kept some of the better rares, but replacing a Legion's Landing for a Hunted Witness? C'mon.
The white deck is only good two histories and four marshals. Everything else is pennies on the dollar. The good news is that mono- decks should be cheap and everywhere as everyone chases the shock and archlight decks...
I dunno. The killer of this for me is Arena. It doesn't take too long to grind to a decent deck and there's no remorse when it cycles out. At this point 30$ is 30$ too many for a deck that's both half finished and nearing the end of its lifespan.
Without Arena it would be worth considering for someone with no cards who wants to play Standard.

What's the tier deck list, if you don't mind my asking? I have not been keeping up well with the lists, but I am looking for some inspiration.

The article links to the PTQ top 8 that inspired it: six red/white aggro decks, a jeskai control and an Izzet drakes. All played red to some degree, but the Challenger version is mono white so that the mana base is free. They could have used that to put in a playset of Benalia or Landing, but instead they cut cheap and as a result is the lowest estimated value of the four.

But they locked in the deck contents in November. And in November, Benalia was a $25 card. Putting even the two of them in as they did would have made it solidly the second most valuable deck of the four, had the prices held up at all. The market has since severely devalued Benalia, but you can't in good faith attribute that to Wizards being cheap.
On Nov 13, Landing was a $9 card, Benalia was a $25 card, and Marshal was a $3 card. Those eight cards alone were committing $80 in then-card-value to this deck. (edit: Tocatli Honor Guard was $3 as well, and there's two of them here)
Well in value wasn’t Vehicles Rush the most valuable of them all? Or wasn’t the mono red from last year? Or wasn’t the BG snake (even without key cards)? I get the argument of wizard being cheap, I don’t think it about the drakes deck cause it got almost all the rare cards of the deck + all the solid common and uncommon.
The white and the red ones can be atributed to being cheap.
Guess we will have to wait until next year
Gates deck with 3 expansion explosion and one search for azcanta (oh ops it is rotating)
Reclamation deck with 1 teferi ,2 e/e, 1 nexus and 1 Seattle (oh ops again)
UG deck with one krasis 4 guardians, 1 shock, 1 check
And whatever deck comes from war-core2020-next 2 sets.
Well we can’t say the decks are bad, they look very much the same level or better than the old event decks but more playable
